Manly captain Matt Orford says the 28-20 victory over Leeds in the World Club Challenge was as "tough and intense" as any match he has played in
Interesting how that squares with your mate`s views.
Think I will stick with the current WWC winning team captain rather than a retired ex U8`s junior schoolboys champion.

You should really try and form your own thoughts and opinions.
Personally, I think the truth lies somewhere between the comments in AP's blog and Orford's comments.

Has your thread containing the link just disappeared.
Shame that as I never did find out who Jamie Leon was supposed to be.

| Quote: John D H "No complaints from me. Beaten by a far better side. No team in this country or (probably) the NRL would have beaten that Manly team. Although I keep asking myself would the game have turned out different if Ablett didn't make that stupid mistake at the beginning of the second half. I doubt it to be honest.
Oh and I think Peacock really let the side down last night not just through his poor discipline, but his lack of bottle to take the ball up instead of blindly throwing a hospital pass to Burrow.'"
I agree about Peacock, his "murder" pass to Burrow cost us our best chance of creating some tries and his bad temper cost us points while he was in the bin. Also he has lost the ability to offload and was playing one up rugby in the final quarter when needed to use some width with several overlap opportunities wasted.
Also agree about Ablett. I think Smith was our MofM and Donald wasted without a centre. Ali didn`t look fit but gave us a lift in second half.
Manly were very good and reminded me how we used to play. I still thnk that the Leeds early season form of last year would have beaten Manly.
What has happened to our offloading, backing up and lines of running. Our game plan now has too much negative one up rugby which is causing injuries and close results.

To be fair Peacock doesn’t throw that many passes and blaming him for wee Rob getting poleaxed is a little harsh, also his spell in the bin was cancelled out by Perry also being binned.

Its hard in the face of the facts as pointed out by G1 to have any sympathy with your view really.
Quote: LS16_Rhino "12 Points conceded during his sin binning and getting Burrow killed was a very, very important contribution to our defeat.
'"
Its a vaild point that it more than likely changed the course of the game in the favour.
It doesnt make JP a bad player. Its history now nothing more and we should move on to the next objective(s)

| Manly may be the best side in the NRL but this season even if they are top there are likely to be at least 8 other sides that could beat them on their day. If Leeds were to compete in the NRL the week-in week-out intensity would be an enormous step up.
