Hopefully Gannon signs next 

He is signing next, for New Zealand Warriors.

Sad if true.
Leeds have stuck with him the last year with his injury issues.

Going to the right team is always important I don't think he would be 

Disappointing news if true. Through the whole
Of 2023 and 2024 he started 6 games and played 4 of the bench due to concussion issues.


Going to the much harder NRL when he has not yet been able to get through a single SL season seems a strange move to me.


I can?t think of an English player being a success at NZ warriors since Dennis Betts and Andy Platt. Even Sam Tomkins failed.


Seems like a bit of a kick in the teeth for the club and is now becoming a bad habit following Walters and Martin.


I reckon he will be back in SL in 2 years.

Feel let down by Gannon, club stuck by him with his long long lay off. Poor from the player imo and he?s going to NRL far too early. Yet more top young talent we can?t keep hold of though 

Nail on the head. I always thought he would head to the NRL one day, but I think a logical and honourable compromise would have been a two year contract at Leeds. That would have given the club some reward for the time and patience they have shown him. Totally understand that it's a professional sport and players need to maximise their earnings and aspire to play in the elite competition, but as others have said I think he's gone too early and to the wrong club. 

Maybe better he leaves now than in a couple of years, when he's actually become that player many think he's  capable of becoming (I  confess I've not really seen enough to be 100% convinced on that front). Less of a loss, if you like?

He?s off contract, we can?t put any clauses or anything in his future contract whatsoever.

I?m not sure it?s fair giving him stick about ?loyalty?. It?s a short career and he will have been offered very good money to go play in the best RL competition in the world and go experience living in a different country before he has a family to think about.


Good luck to him I say, he?ll go well over there, and if he does it probably guarantees him an England squad place for the WC.

I don't think anybody is giving him stick, at least on here, but I but do think it's fair to be dissapointed in his decision to leave now, especially in the context of the last couple of years where the club has gone the extra mile in protecting his long term health. For the record, I've always thought he would be a world class player, and he think he'll become one in the NRL. However, I do wonder if the Warriors are the right club for any English player trying to make it over there. I really hope he leaves the Rhinos on good terms, because I thought you could sense Arthur's dissapointment at yesterday's presser.
