All the finger pointing again from a certain few on here and none are anywhere to be seen right now. I haven't clicked on the video site , but I clearly remember the Leon song . My opinion is that it wasn't homophobic . There was nothing in the song that suggested that such activities are wrong or immoral etc etc .
The words were merely suggesting what could have happened if he had gone to prison .
At the time I even suggested an alternative to use after it was revealed that he wasn't going down .

If the original song had contained words along the lines of 'you are a dirty fkin faggot' then I would have been 'actively involved' in getting whoever was singing it to stop . There is no place for that kind of chanting on the terraces , nor anywhere else .

I think the homosexual chants were referring to the Darts Song which contains the lyrics "Sean long is a gay, he's a closet gay and a pedophile".

It wasn't Leeds Rhinos fans that sung those chants, it was some "travelling friends" that just happened to be there at those exact moments.....they had nicked the shirts the previous day........

I specifically asked for the Leeds forums link to troublesome Leeds fans (never provided), I asked why you only target Cas (no reason given except you all wanted to jump on us as if we're all the same), I hint that we all have some idiots (i already know you have, i've got a video of them), and I then suggest we leave it be and just agree that both sets of fans have idiots that we all have to deal with. All this was of course leading up to one moment (possibly two but you lot were never going to admit you have idiot fans also) and that one moment being the youtube video of your fans singing homophobic songs. Doesn't matter who posted it. Tigersalltheway did so, but I was just enjoying what many might consider to be trolling. You wanted the proof, it's there. You now want to go on some mission against me making out i'm not a respected poster anymore rather than dealing with the issue at hand. The one where RL has a few problems. It seems to be true to Castleford form that rather than owning the problem, and trying to see it through to its solution, once again the fault of bad behaviour towards opposition at a Castleford game is blamed on someone else.

The issue at hand isnt what is clearly a very small amount of people singing a stupid song at Sean Long a minimum of 2 and a bit years ago, it is the opposition coach having stones thrown at it whilst leaving Castlefords ground along with the myriad of other crowd behavioural issues Castleford have had.

If you want to pretend that a song about Sean Long 2 years ago in any way mitigates what happens at Cas, thats fine, most people will dismiss you as an idiot.

Ouch . The Sean Long song . Would that be the 'traveller , traveller , traveller' one , or ' the wheels on your house go round and round' one ? Never heard anyone else but Leeds fans give him that kind of abuse . He gets it everywhere he goes . Heard it loads of times on the telly . It is 'terrace banter' nothing more , nothing less .

I think the difference is the quantity of people in the crowd chanting, the intention of the crowd and whether the it is obvious that the person the chants are being directed at will take offence to it.

No club is a saint. Every club has it's fair share, it's possibly just the ratios that make the difference.

Apologies mate, I did read your post and never ever do I treat all people the same as anyone else, let alone group fans like this. Any "tarring" I have done on here was either sarcastic and ironic (aimed at those who call all Cas fans bad), or totally unintentional (it's so easy to word things incorrectly and get pulled up later).

I know what you mean about the ratios but I don't see any difference between a section of the Castleford support directing a homophobic chant at Gareth Thomas and most of the Leeds southstand directing a chant at (say) Sean Edwards insinuating that he enjoys anal sex - a common enough chant over the years with its homophobic overtures, and directed at whoever was the play maker of the team we were playing that week.

Where Cas got shafted by the RFL was that it was directed at a high profile recent international RU convert who was also had a high international media profile regarding his sexual preference (see the coverage of his "outing" from America on Youtube) and it was televised/recorded, they were made an example of but they are not the only club who have been guilty of such things in the past.
