| I'd agree with AG on this. Also, might a new North Stand in the nearish future be an opportunity to expand capacity if it's needed? Or filling in the corner between the Carnegie & South stands?

| Quote lionarmour87="lionarmour87"OK !I will say it.Why not look into selling up relocating to maybe Boddington hall when leeds uni sell up then build a stadium befitting of the club?.
nothing but the best for Leeds rlfc. Not any more i'm afraid'"
How much do you reckon you'll get for a plot of land sandwiched between a cricket stadium and a main road, with pretty much zero potential for development?
Now come up with a figure of how much it would cost to buy a huge plot of land in LS16, clear it, build a new stadium with all the assorted facilities such as parking.
Take the second figure from the first one, then think how much interest alone you'd be paying on a loan of that size.
Can you see why it's a non-starter now?

| Quote Sal Paradise="Sal Paradise"2.3m at October has to keep the club going until January - by January it will have next to nothing - hence the need to play the festive season game. Wages for both teams etc will be close to 400k a month these still need to be paid even though revenues are virtually non-existent.'" Only enough to keep Leeds RLFC running - the RU team is presumably only a short term loan.
Anyway, in cashflow as opposed to income recognition terms November/December is a very positive period as that is when most season ticket cash and lower level sponsorship comes in together with a goodly chunk of the new shirt sales. So in some respects the end of October could be considered towards the bottom of the company's annual cash cycle.
Quote Sal Paradise="Sal Paradise"Not sure it has more corporate than either Huddersfield or Wigan?'" Fairly sure Headingley beats them

| Quote Remarkable_Rhinos="Remarkable_Rhinos"Again... short sighted.
What about this Exiles match? That could grow over a number of years. Rugby League World Cup? Neutral Venue? I doubt the residents thing would allow pop concerts but the point is still there. Don't Wire rent the HJ out to the Liverpool FC reserves? What if LUFC get back in the big time and the same deal could be done?
It's all just very short sighted to say "we don't need the capacity".'"
What about the Exiles match? Are you seriously suggesting Leeds invest an extra million quid into the stadium so they can get whatever amount the RFL are paying them to host an exhibition game?
Weren't Leeds United playing their reserve games at Belle Vue at one point? Why would Headingley need an extra 1,000 on its capacity to host them?
Your "build it and they will come" attitude is commendable but entirely unrealistic.

| Ah, the Gilder school of Economics.
Forgive me, when you are investing substantial sums in the future of your business, is it generally the accepted course of action to reduce your future revenue stream? A potential thousand less paying punters per week over the course of a season could make the debt repayment a bit more problematic!
And if it's all right with you, yes, I think it's reasonable for anyone seeing the original proposal and comparing it with what's on offer, to feel less than excited.

I'm not saying let's build a huge stadium. I've not even saying let's increase the capacity.
I'm just saying, if we're spending £7,000,000 let's a least come out of it with the same capacity as we had before we spent a penny.
It's like paying to extend your house and ending up with fewer, smaller rooms, but a much more sturdy wall.

Go on then Adam Smith - based on attendances over the most successful period in the club's history, how much revenue are Leeds going to lose by having a capacity of 21,000 rather than 22,000?
Let's keep it to actual, realistic revenue streams though if that's alright with you? Not pie in the sky like the Exiles game suddenly becoming the third biggest event in British RL after the Grand Final and Challenge Cup Final.
