| Quote: Mick Gledhill "He's 28 FFS
You signed Peacock from us at the same age.
Diskin still has so much to offer the game and IMO it's a massive loss to Leeds.
A sign of the times that the power once again is slowly heading towards Odsal, just like it went to Headingley in 2007.'"
I wish him well and it could come back to bite us but consider this ,if he was such a massive loss to us don't you think GH would of held out for a fee rather than release him for zip?
As for power shifting to Odslum

Holding out for a fee from Canterbury Bankstown didn't do much good, did it?
Perhaps there's an agreement between Leeds & Bradford to mutually share ideas/concepts?

What's that thing about monkeys, typewriters and the works of William Shakespeare?

The OP was not the only one to have a say and wasn't entirely in my mind when I posted.
That said who else thought this was even a remote possibility at the time or even a week or so ago?

Spin from Headingley does not constitute evidence.
Can you provide any evidence from any source at Canterbury where they concede that they paid Leeds a fee for Greg Eastwood?
GH's opportunism and eagerness to ram home the point yet again that the club did receive a fee from Canterbury for Eastwood is duly noted
In the meantime, I welcome the mutual appreciation relationship/joint venture between Leeds and Canterbury, along with the beneficial swapping of concepts and ideas leading to the posssibility for some professional development opportunities for staff from both clubs.

Neither do your continual rants prove we did'nt.
Whatever you are "duly noting" again you do it without substance or evidence ,our CEO has clearly stated publicly we received a fee for Eastwood and no other statements to contradict that or disprove it have been forthcoming from anywhere else so again unless you can prove otherwise i know who i'll believing.

Not for one nanosecond have I ever doubted you being one of GH's chief disciples, hanging on to his every word of spin as gospel.
Some signings don't work out. The signing of Eastwood was doomed from the day he wasn't granted a visa and enthusiastically joined Canterbury instead. That was the clearest signal to anyone unhampered by ego to take the rational decision to mutually terminate any deal and move on rather than impose a deal with a player who had lost interest and motivation.
No amount of 'I got a fee for Eastwood and I won... no, really' announcements in the media will alter the fact that your 'hero' lost his 'halo' in this case and lost badly.

| Hi all,
Long time reader, first time poster!
I just felt like I wanted to get in on the Diskin topic…
My issue is not WHY he’s left, everybody gets that. He’s openly said (in one of Sky’s exceptional high quality, totally worth £40+ per month, usual pieces of prematch time-wasting drivel, sorry did I say “time-wasting drivel, I meant “quality, objective, well researched build up”) that he felt like he nose had been put out of joint when we signed Bedsy. Coupled with the fact that every time McShane has had the chance to impress he’s done so, he must’ve felt very much like it wasn’t out of the realms of possibility he could be playing as 3rd choice hooker before long! Totally did the right thing by himself and his family securing the 3 year salary and I (and hopefully MANY others) will be cheering, not jeering, him the next Bulls match.
My issue, however, is with HOW he left. Does anybody else feel slightly uneasy as to how it’s come about? “It has all happened very quickly but…” Surely this can’t have been in the plans, or (as mentioned) why sign an extension? Also compounded by the comment from the Bulls Chairman - “when a player of Matt's pedigree unexpectedly became available we moved quickly.” What!? Does the fact that he’s “unexpectedly become available” worry anybody else? Perhaps they’ve got the training schedule and it says… “Monday am: Danny - Light Cardio, Paul - Light Cardio, Matt - Get the tackle bags out of storage and give them a dust.” It’s very “un-Leeds-like” to let a player of Matt’s service leave like he has.
Perhaps we’ve got the opportunity to sign somebody and we needed the Salary Cap space? I’ve had the pleasure of spending 5 or 10 minutes with Diskin on several occasions and he is a lovely bloke, but let’s be honest, in terms of “Salary vs. Necessity” it would be Diskin or Burgess IMO. I certainly hope it’s that. It does just makes me a little bit uneasy the way in which this seems to have gone down.
This has ended up pretty long so apologies for that!
Matt - all the very best for the future, with both RL and your business. You’ve done the right thing by yourself and your family and I’m sure you’ll get a very warm reception at Headingley next year. Top bloke.

I think your last paragraph answers it. I said a few weeks back that Bailey was going to Cas on the proviso that Leeds get the player they wanted, a current super league player. Apparently they were releasing him to make way for this new player. Perhaps they had a change of priorities with the player to leave, and instead decided it had to be someone else, and next in line was Diskin.
I have no doubt that another signing will be made very soon to add to the strength of the squad.

Have you heard anything about who that player might be?

The honest answer is nothing. All I was told by a Cas director was that Bailey was made available for them because Leeds were signing a current super league player and needed to release someone. From that I am assuming the Diskin situation is instead of the Bailey one, as I can't see Leeds getting rid of both of them. But I am confident the club will deliver another player.
What I would add though, is that I have also been told that Leeds had Westerman and Lawrence lined up for next year (2012). So who knows whether it might be one of those.

How has he lost this halo you speak of?
Call me what you like ,i trust GH and i'm sure IF there was no fee involved it would of been denied but again you just like troling without any evidence to back that up.
Again i ask can you prove we did'nt get a fee?
