| Don't think BJB will end up at Warrington - at least not for 2014, and certainly not at FB.
Warrington were all set to sign Quentin Laulu-Togagae from Sheffield for fullback, with Hodgson departing and Ratchford moving to SO.
However, the decision to give Briers a new deal scuppered that plan.

Story does appear to check out unless someone got in there before this was posted on May the 28th:
viewtopic.php?f=17&t=551372&tsmp=1380807910&start=11
What perhaps is less convincing is the implication it could have been rumoured a couple of weeks even earlier given it appears he'd been a member for twelve days at that point - but it may be more complicated that that. Either way Briscoe signing on a 5 year contract was put out there back then.
I recall somewhere along the line that I posted that the strength of the CEO's denial did indicate it was probably going to happen - the stronger the denial = the more likely. Not looking for any credit for stating the bleeding obvious mind.

I haven't seen many very substantial rumours linking Kirmond with Leeds, beyond the usual Autumn speculation. I like the look of him, both as a player and beard-wearer so I'd welcome his signing. Is there much suggestion that he's in any way likely to sign though?

| I think Kirmond would be a mistake. A good player, but seems to have gone from work horse 2nd rower to World Beater on the back of a good season in a poor side. Think there would be a bit of a bidding war and someone will end up over-paying massively for him.

He's a miles better player than JJB, and and miles better than having a guy who can manage only half a season in Delaney (unless somehow he gets over his injuries). How would that be a mistake?
He hasn't had one good season, he's been doing it since his switch to the back row. Coincidentally, another winger who made the successfull switch to the back row.

| I don’t think he is miles better than JJB, I think he is fitter, and you will get more games out of him, and he is younger, but he isn’t miles better. He is better than Delany, again don’t think he is miles better but he is better.
Kirmond was struggling to get in the Giants team a couple of years ago, he wasn’t pulling up trees.
As I said, the reason it would be a mistake would be that JJB is on a wage congruent with being 32 years old, having a few injuries and winding down his career. Delany is on a wage congruent with being a failed centre becoming a work-horse 2nd rower. Danny Kirmond stock will never be higher than it is right now, there will be plenty after him and whoever gets him is likely to need to pay top dollar for a 27 year old 3rd tier SL player. He is never going to be world class, he is never going to demand an England shirt, at the very best, if he can keep his form up he might get an appearance against a lower international side. He isn’t value for money.

It all just rumour that we will attempt to strike a deal for him at the moment mate but expect more departures from Wakey.

| Vultures are out en-mass at Wakie at the moment. Club competition will be needed to get the best price possible, which is tricky as they've made it clear they need to offload.

Vultures are an integral part of nature, without then dead meat would be left to rot .... Better to make some good use of the pickings.
Leeds should be one of the biggest vultures and take first share . . Wakefield can let the babies grow to take their place and then learn how to look after them better.
