You were doing well there until you mentioned Wilkin
Just because he's been around the block, everyone at Saints are trying to make him out to be some kind of Kevin Sinfield type, it's embarrassing for all concerned.

He is a Kevin Sinfield type. As important for them as Sinfield is to us. A quality player who does a lot of good stuff. Without him on Friday, I am sure the result would not have been the same.

| Of course it would have made far more sense for a senior player like Wilkin to come out and criticise his own team, and suggest that they don't really stand a chance of beating a far superior Leeds team any time this season as they will inevitably win everything. In fact, he probably should've told his team's fans not to bothering turning up to any more games this season. His chairman and coach would probably encourage him to do so.

| Saints finally have something to cheer about after so many key losses. It doesn't matter how Wilkin performed, that it was right after the ccf, that we had 6 players out and another on the bench that was never going to get more than 6 mins of play time. As soon as he has a reason to talk tough he was going to take it xD.

I'd say more a Sean O'Loughlin type. I quite like him as a pundit though. Speaks well and knows his stuff. There's an element of truth in what he says in the article too.

Never in a very long month of Sundays.

He really isn't and we were never going to win last week.
I can't believe you're saying that Jon Wilkin was the difference between Leeds winning and losing... Did you not watch the game? I just can't believe it...

I watched the game, and he had a huge influence on them. As confirmed by his coach after who also put the result down to him returning.
You may not like him, rate him, but you can't ignore what happens in front of your eyes.

All I saw was lots of errors and moaning at the ref every time he messed up. Standard Jon Wilkin performance really.
If he really is their Kevin Sinfield type player then Saints are in poor shape, very poor shape which probably explains why we battered them 3 times already and they could only scrape a win against us a week after Wembley with players missing..

Sorry I missed that.
Well KC wasn't going to say "We only won because Leeds had a cup hangover, had key players out and winning wasn't essential..."

No but he could have said it was down to Luke Walsh. But he didn't he said Wilkin.

"The Golden Generation finally has its Golden Fleece! They have Wembley Cup Final winners medals to add to their collection."

| Played well but a bit of a stretch to say the result would've been different without him. We looked tired and lathegic post Wembley and out of all 34 players on show no one missed more tackles (7) and conceded more penalties (3) than Wilkin.

Or he could've just said it was a good team effort, which it was, albeit against a team there for the taking, which they were.
KC talks rubbish after every game though so him saying that win was down to Wilkin is no surprise.
.....Wilkin

| Maybe Leeds should enquire about his availability. We need a Sinfield type player for next season.

| Wilkin isn't as good as Sinfield but, so what, not many are. Wilkin is a very good player. That is plain to see. He's very important to Saints, that is plain to see. IMO he is far better than the much more lauded O'Loughlin.
