Yea very true JC kirkes 3/4 good efforst over 2 years have proved me wrong as has our Coahc tonight tactically and selection wise.
As for Burrow the lad is a Club legend but THE regular 9 we are lacking he isn't but of course you know that but as per yer long winded exchanges with TVOC yer cant admit when maybe some of us may have a point.
I have no qualms with admitting the Coach turned it around in 2011 and even 2012 and handling the 1st part of the squad transition or praising Kirke's efforts these last couple of weeks your problem is NO-ONE can do no wrong win lose or draw!
Also as a paying ST holder and traveller to most away games ,Acadamy matches and testimonials/friendlies I'LL ALWAYS reserve the right to my opinion whether it matches your remit or not.

Frankly yes I would. It really comes to a choice of Sinfield or McGuire in the halves as with the lack of pace they both have now, they can't (or shouldn't) play there together. Burrow at 7 and McGuire or Sinfield at 6 would be the best utilisation of them, and given that McDermott will not play Sinfield at 13 he has to play at 6.

Of the 3 players, McGuire is going downhill the fastest, but that doesn't mean he isn't still useful.

Regarding McShane, the fact that he's the best option we have at 9, yet is not really what you might call "Leeds standard" tells you that we have needed to recruit a top quality hooker ever since Buderus left.

I think you will find I do accept it when a good counter point is made. But I do not agree with some of your judgements that is all. By keeping repeating the same old point does not mean I have to finally agree with it.

I have never suggested you should not offer your views, quite why you always resort to stating your rights when it is not in question is beyond me. My comments are usually in response what I consider unfair criticisms which doesn't make me right either icon_wink.gif

I have never said "no-one can do no wrong" but there are enough with a negative view on here without me joining in

The "negative view" is purely an opinion on indidual/collective performance though whether the Coach or players.
Most on here offer a balanced and reasoned view JC yet 99% of the time you'll defend or resort to past results as a reasoning to why those views are not valid in your opinion.
Nothing should be beyond question/discussion negative or positive on either side i agree 100% maybe the tone or point is getting mis-read in some cases and to be fair its not easy to detract from what was a monumental effort tonight from a broken and beaten team on the back foot but imo questions still need asking and changes need to be made throughout the structure.

can i half agree with both of you!

burrow will never be a 9 as long as i have a hole in my backside.

mcshane isn't good enough BUT like rhinoms says he has a poor game and is dropped unlike others.

i simply can't understand why GH hasn't gone and got a top class hooker because boy do we need one

Burrow is only effective when he crabs across the line and ends up being in the position he would be if he was playing 7. BMcD usually likes a team of 2nd rows though, so don't expect a new hooker in the closed season.

We need a hooker – plain and simple.

Sinny’s is not and never will be a hooker and neither will Burrow. Both their distribution from the ptb doesn’t have the sharpness or precision that a dedicated hooker does. Both are excellent players in their preferred positions but neither is a hooker.

There was a point last night when Sinny came into dummy half and neither of the markers were set, there was a massive hole behind the ruck – a decent hooker would have spotted this and scooted but Sinny instinctively passed the ball out.

Our main downfall last night seemed to be carrying injured players but this was compounded with the distribution from the ptb. We weren’t sharp enough, we weren’t fast enough and our options were predictable.

GH needs to get his hand in his pocket and plash out on a top draw hooker, we don’t need a new winger we need a fekkin’ hooker!

This, for me.

He just doesn't seem to have it. Which is a shame.

If you believe nothing is beyond question then why do you object to my postings which actually do provide some balance to the non stop moaning about the coach and certain players. If you only want to have sheep around you, you should have been a shepherd. Baaa icon_wink.gif

But not so good a coach it would seem.

On a related topic, weren't the up-and-coming hookers McShane and Hood supposed to benefit through learning from Buderus? That hasn't happened in any noticable way either.

McShane has all the ability, but he's clearly not doing (or doing) something that causes the coaching staff to doubt whether he can transfer this into regular good performances.

The future is in his hands.
