| Was there some form of countdown clock high up on the Carniege stand? Where we were stood on the Carniege Terrace I couldn't see it but a load of kids down the front did a 10 second countdown and were near as damn it to the hooter

As it has for the best part of 2 seasons now....
The corresponding clock on the WT was showing 40:00 before kick off and then it went blank as soon as the hooter sounded.

If he has personally paid to watch over a 1,000 Leeds games I imagine he'll be too busy trying to avoid having a cardiac arrest to worry about getting stuck in.

I figure 1000 Leeds games must be the best part of 30 years worth. If that's the case I'm surprised he's still alive. I have just less than 30 years in (man and boy) and I still have to check for a pulse regularly...

................................probably nearer 1500 if you include the games I've paid for my kids to watch! I think Roy Castle sung a song about it once.
and as for getting stuck in...............don't worry about that pal.

You're not far off, first game in 1979 aged 10.
Seen some of the worlds best players in the Blue and Amber during that time................and some of the worst!

Including last night, the 1000th game back would have been an away loss at Wigan 19-5 on the 20th March 1983. That's just shy of 28 years if you were an ever-present, which would top my best sequence by several seasons.
These days I'd count myself fortunate if I could rack up 2 consecutive games let alone seasons.

You're in your 40's. You should be sat at home with your feet up eating cake.

Right now I am!
Helping my sons' team out with an injury crisis. This week grass roots rugby...........next week home debut v Saint Helens? I wouldn't even charge Leeds a match fee. Can't say fairer than that.

| LOL. I wondered how the hell the kids knew the countdown to the exact second as I couldn't see a clock anywhere. I though I was surrounded by a bunch of mini Rain Men.

| Yeah, as far as a clock goes there's plenty of space underneath the team lists. If they don't though there's no reason why they can't use the union clock. Surely it cant be too hard to link the carniege (Rhinos) clock to the western (union) one. There's only about 1/5th of the Stadium that can actually see the Carniege clock.
