Did someone mention cake?

I loved it last year when people said we could go the season unbeaten! It's spelled certain doom! In the end it wasn't that bad! we were crap at times but still had plenty of top days out. this post basically means we get beat tonight!

No team will go unbeaten this season, and even if it were to be accomplished, I've yet to see any evidence that Leeds are one of the more likely teams to do it (Wigan would be most likely IMO). You might as well ask if Cas will end up unbeaten at the end of the season.

We've not played any of the top teams yet but struggled to edge Bradford in game 1, who finished outside the 8 last season and have changed the majority of their first choice playing personnel. Look what Wigan did to them at Odsal... Leeds have a very long way to go.

I understand what you mean. Going into each match "There's no reason why we can't win this!".

But there's a difference between thinking we can win EACH match, and thinking we can win EVERY match.

I can't see why any rational person would ever think this in any scenario.

I can't see why anyone would ever think this based upon our 2 games so far given the nature of our opponents and the opponents we have yet to face.

It won't happen of course, but with all the talk of 'dads army', 'transition', '2011 is a waste of time', 'no talent coming through' etc it's nice to see pure optimism. I'll have a glass of whatever the OP's having.

Hey, I'm trying to give you a bit of support and have a conversation with you about it instead of just berating you.

It's not though is it... it's two different questions.

1) Do I think we have a chance of beating Wigan at the DW in July? Yes.

2) Do I think we can go all season beating every team, both home and away? No.

You asked the second question. Whilst I understand the connection between the questions, and if you were to go down all the fixtures asking Question 1, I'd answer yes to each of them individually, but that doesn't constitute a "yes" to Question 2.

I'd love it to happen, but it won't.

Although I think that we will do very well and win at least one trophy.

I agree with your philosophy there, every game Leeds go into I will think 'Yeah we can win this one'. BUT thats the same for Saints, Wigan and Warrington when they all play each other. Saints are capable of beating Warrington tonight. Warrington are capable of beating Saints tonight. There is a big difference between 'can win and 'will win'.
Like I said with a bit of luck we may only lose about 5 games. 1 slip up against a 'lower' side and a loss each against Wigan, Saints, Warrington and Hudds...and thats with a bit of luck.

We'll have to keep this short because I'm sure people would rather stick hot pins in their eyes than have to read us two debating this!!


If we were to meet every Friday, and toss a coin. The first week, I'd pick Heads. The week after I'd pick Heads too. You could even say to me... "What do you think it will be in 4 Fridays time?" and I'd say Heads. I'd be no worse off picking Heads every time. If, however, you asked me... "Do I think it will be heads every week for the next 27 week?" I'd say no.

You didn't ask us to deduce the outcome of each single match as it's own entity (all winable individually), you asked us to judge all 27 of them as one event (much less possible).
