You should have no problemo. Most UK type bars & villas have either the Freeview package which includes BBC, ITV or they have the full SKY package which includes everything. Saludos

Most bars have BBC SKY as it is the same as my TV at home I.E 101 / 401 etc, I watched semi final in a bar in Majorca

In the Costa Brava there will not just be you wanting to watch it. Me personally, I would go round every bar beforehand and ask if they're showing it. Explain how your a big group, and how you plan on staying all day. I've been doing this since about 13/14, in various places across Europe.

I've never had a problem in many places with super league, so I would be shocked if couldn't find somewhere to watch the cc final on the BBC.

If you're in Lloret you won't have any problems whatsoever.

i dont see the problem telling people on here in that kind of situation to use justin television website. There was a trial case done a while back as someone in america was watching the BBC to ITV on there or something. the argument was that they were a british citizen watching a free to air channel abroad and that back home they had a TV license. the case was dropped as they found in his favour

BBC is transmitted by a satellite Astra 2D it has a very wide footprint, meaning it can be picked up in most places in europe (allthough you would need a massive dish in the canaries). BBC1 transmit thier programs subscription free, as a condition of the licience fee we pay. People in europe don't pay the licience fee but are still able to watch the programming for free. Astra are launching a new series of satellites to replace the dying 2A/2B/2C/2D which Sky also use. These will be launched between 2012 and 2014, they are reported to be designed with a much narrower footprint, so that the only place you will be able to recive the channels will be in the UK. TV rights for the premiership are sold to service providers all over europe (and SKY transmit in other countries as they are subscription based) , so you will still be able to watch the football.

Can't see the RFL selling the TV rights to any foriegn providers. Gone are the days of watching the challenge cup on holiday next year may be the last.

Supper league on sky will be fine though.
