| I'm not trying to rain on the parade here but......
I don't think that Kevin would appreciate being singled out like this for a statue.
He'll openly admit he can't do it without the players who are behind him and while on the pitch he's just one part of the cog.

| For me to maintain the immense respect I have for him he would have to refuse the request to use his image in such a way and also to refuse any government honour that the RFL may lobby for in the coming years.
Of course if he ever wants a talented local artist to capture his image in paint then I know of such a person who would be interested in supplying said image for a suitable stipend

| A statue would be great I must say. However an "invincibles" style statue in a few years would be great consisting of the ever presents such as Mags, Burrow, Sinny, Bailey etc. the ever presents if you will.
I do feel Sinny should be should be singled out though. He's the most successful club captain in our history and is an absolute legend.

I do believe you have to go unbeaten during a whole season or tour to warrant the tag "invincibles". A bit like Arsenal in 2003/04 or the Kangaroos in 1982 and 1986.
How about an "invincibles just in the play-offs for a mere handful of games after finishing 5th" type statue instead?

I'm not so sure, he is a very, very modest man and obviously our success isn't purely down to him. But if the fans want to honour him and acknowledge the fact that he is our most successful captain EVER, then even he surely can understand why us the fans would want it. I suppose the best way would be to first ask the club to maybe ask on him on our behalf, explaining our passion to honour him, but not forgetting the efforts of our other stars too.
I would be surprised if there was many fans, and players for that matter that wouldn't want his outstanding achievements honoured.

| How about having this statue erected in the middle of Headingley?
Not only will we have rugby league fans visiting this pilgrimage, plenty of people will have their pictures taken next to Sir Kev whilst getting drunk on the Otley Run. Plus it’ll make our club more visible to the world as a result.

The old Hunslet legend Alf (ginger)Burnell is a portrait painter. He has done many including schoey. However I am sure after kev has retired there will be a permanent tribute to the great man

| Would Sinfield approve of being singled out in this fashion?
I'd have thought it unlikely in light of his many public statement. The club and fans above all else need to ensure they have the players approval first.

Is that the written law as to how it must be done?
