| Metallica's show with the San Francisco symphony orchestra was also awesome. Not that I was there, but I've seen it and have it on CD.
I never go to any gigs nowadays because I'm all old and boring and stuff.

That composer who they worked with (Hayman/Hyman?) dead ya know.
Classic scores and hard riffs are musically not that far away, worked a treat. The cut of Nothing Else Matters from that show is a master-piece.

| Later With Jools Holland - just always excellent no matter who is on, the format is genius.
All music shows should be like this and the pretence that X Factor has anything at all to do with music should be dropped immediately.

| James played lots of obscure songs last night including a couple of 80's b sides!!
It was different and a superb night. The place was heaving. Lovely hall too

Completely agree. There's never a bad act on there. Even if you don't like the type of music they play, Jools only ever features people who are excellent within their genre.

Not sure I agree with that but with the eclectic nature of the acts there's generally someone really good on or at least (in my case) someone I've never heard or heard of who I want to find out more about.

| saw shed seven on there last night of the tour in york last night.
a young band from york, likely kids, opened up. very raw but the talent and potential was there for all to see, very buzzcockesque.
former seahorses frontman chris helme followed with an excellent acoustic set.
finally home time boys shed seven came on. the lighting was brilliant and it was loud enough to hurt your ears.
a few songs from a maximum high were played to start with followed by some classics such as disco down and going for gold. the encore was a cover of the smiths panic before chasing rainbows ended the night with a capacity crown baying for more.
if you like indie stuff this was the night for you. there were no fillers, just one pounding hit after another. i know total loiner enjoyed it too. for me this was a night to remember for a long timne

cracking night mate, when the sheds opened with parallel lines that made my night it's one of my favorite sheds songs, the likely lads were very good i thought, everything a young band should be raw energetic and can back it up with good songs, chris helme was really good too. it was great having a chat too beforehand mate.

Wish I'd have gotten to see the Last Shadow Puppets first time round, excellent band, recently started to listening to their B-sides/covers which are all excellent too. It's great to see two artists that would usually play guitar-heavy music turn their hand to something completely different and still be as good.
