| Huge game this with the three losses in a row. Although early on and playing well with the youngsters, we don’t want to be losing pace on the pack above. Expecting Hurrell, Handley, Sutcliffe, Thompson and Vuniyayawa to be back in the squad this week
Briscoe, Hurrell, Handley, Oledzki, Leeming, Prior, Mellor, Martin, Dwyer, Sutcliffe, Smith, Vuniyayawa, Thompson, Sutcliffe, Walters, Briscoe, Donaldson, O’Connor, Broadbent, Gannon, Eastmond.
Broadbent
Briscoe Hurrell Sutcliffe Handley
Sutcliffe Eastmond
Oledzki Leeming Prior
Martin Mellor
Smith
Dwyer Walters Donaldson Thompson
Gannon Vuniyayawa Briscoe O’Connor

| Yep could really do with a win. Those players if they are back should really help us get over the line a bit more. Half back is still a big issue though.. Eastmond looks a long way off yet and L Sutcliffe is no half

Eastmond will have benefitted from a proper game, he showed a couple of glimpses of quality, his pass for the mellor try was a beauty

| So, we’ve got 3 tough games out of the way.
These are games we need to be winning despite the injuries, if we have any top half ambitions.
Eastmond will benefit from the wigan game and can see him getting better.
But he needs a partner who can organise.
Be interesting to see the approach we take.

| I cringe as I type this, but Myler would be the best option to partner Eastmond in Gales absence. Should be due back in the next couple of weeks I think.

| Got to get Eastmond involved. Clearly he was apprehensive last night, his first game back etc.
But we really need him to try and lead our attack. Needs to get out of his comfort zone and try things.
We've nothing to lose really, he is our only option. So whatever he does is better than what we've been doing!

Saw the highlights this morning Eastmond defensively was very good and his pass was excellent for the try. Martin looked like fish out of water at SO. His defence was woeful

| I'm not sure Martin's poor defence can be attributed to him playing stand off, as I don't think his position in the defensive line has changed.

1157.jpg It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.:1157.jpg |

| Rhyse is holding his hand up, but struggling at the moment, you have to wonder how much the CV-19 he caught has affected his underlying fitness level. We need another option at halfback so I'd if Myler is fit I'd play him at 7 with Eastmond at 6. Broadbent would stay at 1. If Myler isn't fit, I'd play Leeming at 7 and Eastmond at 6 with Dwyer playing at hooker with O'Connor as the interchange.
None of this is ideal, but until we get some experience healthy again we will have to make do and mend.

His pass did not make the try it was Briscoe brilliance that created it

His long pass was very well done and played a big part. Briscoes pass out of back of the hand was exceptional.

Yeah Martin looks a couple of pegs down from his usual standards to me. His attempt on Hastings looks really laboured, and I wonder whether fatigue led to the missed touch.
He wasn't great last night.
Then again I've been bagging the Briscoes for a couple of weeks and I thought they were both ace against Wigan.
We really could do with getting a couple of results in the next few weeks. Playing against Muizz is going to be interesting.
I'd agree with Agar's comments really - yes we're 10/10 for effort and grit, but we are still making too many errors and putting additional pressure on an already difficult challenge. I'm not sure any player is bang in form, aside from big Mik, but everyone is tipping in.
I reckon we will still need to execute better and produce better last tackle plays if we're going to beat HKR. I wouldn't assume if we go Route 1 again like with Saints and Wigan that we will necessarily beat them. I know we're troops down but some of our last tackle plays have been tragically bad.

| On a side note, how poor are Huddersfield? Bigged up massively pre season, yet been shocking.

I certainly expected them to do ok but Sezer is the top banana there and Luetele is a big signing and both have had injuries and missed games.
