| So DP leaving at end of this season. Supposedly going to Wire and plotting to take Evalds and Trueman with him. I work with some Cas fans and they are going apoplectic.....
I do feel sorry for the club as despite our rivalry, I respect the club and the community behind it. Very worrying times for them.........

| What more could he realistically achieve with Cas? There's a lot of aging players in the squad and there needs to be a pretty significant transition. I'm not sure Powell would fancy it, especially when he can be given near unlimited resources at Warrington.

Yeah it's sad though. Club stopped backing DP with recruitment drive....

| Strong rumor on the Wire board that they are getting Shaun Wane for 2022.

| He's done a good job at Cas. I'm sure we'll never forget their most successful ever super league season.

Ha. They were 'classy Cas' for most of that year though.
Hardaker, Gale and Eden were unstoppable for the most part.
Seemed to run out of steam though, and I think we'd still have beaten them had Hardaker played in the final....

| I honestly don’t get this 'super coach' mentality when it comes to Cas and DP. Don’t get me wrong, he’s done well with the limited resources he’s had at the club, but a messiah he isn’t. To me, you judge a coach on what they have won. A LLS and losing every final you’ve ever coached in, isn’t exactly a massive achievement is it?
Maybe it’s just me.

For the facilities and infrastructure Cas have, even getting to a final is a minor miracle, never mind winning the league in 2017.
Yes he is a brilliant coach as he made ordinary players, extra ordinary...

Fitting a team in the changing room deserves a bit of praise at that ground.
Powell has done a good job there as he has everywhere hes coached. He will be a hard act to follow at Cas.

| I'm not sure staying on for one last season. Is wise especially for the club . If he has a other job lined up surely he will be planning for that

| Naughty here but any mileage in him coming back to Leeds? Agar to some more senior management role, DP in as head coach...?
Obvs major link would be to Warrington but RL is a strange world.

No chance him coming backi wouldnt have thought. He could end up in Union but Wire seems most obvious.

A mate of mine is a Fev fan. When DP left to go to Cas he wasn't overly disappointed. His thoughts were that he can build a good team, play good rugby, but misses the ability to finish it off with silverware. It's followed that course at Cas. Be interesting to see where he ends up. If it is Wire, they need a coach to win things. As we know from experience, there's a skill to coaching a team to win trophies
