| Looks like they're finished, we voted to keep them apparently.
Im torn on this, im all for expansion however it has to be built on solid foundations which it seems wasn’t there.

| It seems like Argylle was a bit of a chancer in the end, and if there's no viable plan in place then you can see why they've been knocked back.
I do think, it's time we as a game had a genuine plan in place with regards to expansion, as opposed to just sitting back and hoping for the best. Toronto were managed shambolically, but they get absolutely no help from the governing body, or any of the clubs. In fact, they were made to bend over backwards at every turn. The game is never going to grow if we don't all work together to develop it.
Hopefully, a non-heartland club takes their place.

| I’d have London back in personally, if we are going to have relegation make them exempt for 3 years, give them some exemptions from the cap and lets try as a sport to help rather than hinder them.

| Agree with giving London a proper shot. Conflicted on Toronto but ultimately for the majority of clubs the risk outweighed the reward.

| Expansion is a good idea, if it means more players (and fans?), not sure Toronto bring this.
Keep the Bye for 2021, promote the top eligible team from the championship for 2022 and that allows everyone to recover as well as they can from Covid restrictions,

That’s a great call imo. We need expansion out of the heartlands for the greater good of the game. Relegation should be scrapped permanently. I’d look at London and York. However I’d start giving ultimatums to likes of Wakey to get their house in order too though. Their ground is a disgrace.

What "help" should they have received? They set the conditions of their promotion with empty promises the game owes/owed them nothing.
The new potential owner was trying it on as well he couldnt even provide proof of funding.

| Can anyone else see a potential league split? If not now but at some time in the next couple of years?

| We don't néed expansion
We need to fully support the existing clubs in the heartlands of RL. Clubs with a rich history. Stop the pipe dreams....

| Embarrassed the vote went the way it did. But not surprised.
Glad Leeds voted in favour along with Catalan and Saints. They see the bigger picture and what the game was trying to achieve. Unfortunately at this moment in time I feel very disheartened with the game.
Perhaps that will change. But the game just becomes more and more of a minority sport for local people.
I just wanted more.

The thing is though, however much I want expansion Toronto being in our domestic league got as many people from outside the game thinking WTF as much as seeing it as a positive.
Its only a bigger picture if it’s actually viable

| Dodgy bid put together by an organisation 3000 miles away. Speaks volumes that Leeds, warry and saints felt it a offerrd more than some of the heartland clubs apparently do

| We have to start with something that is practical. In the same country would be good, but France is the next best option so we can develop the local infrastructure and therefore national team.
It would be great to be in North America, but it would have to be as a stand alone competition so would need at least 6-8 teams there to make it work. Then you can work on the quality of the competition.
We have to think very carefully about where we grow, it must be sustainable or we are ing in the wind. Again.

| It's happened before with expansion clubs folding and it's the fans who were converted to the game that have been lost that I feel sorry for

| Candidly what do we expect. The three teams who voted for them , Leeds ,Saints, Catalans always see the positive side of the game and they was one Abstention In Warrington. Looking at the remaining teams, no doubt led by Wigan teams who always put themselves first, along with their bank balance. I never agreed with Canada, 3,000 miles for a game of rugby is a long way, but something has to be done to expand the game, without expansion we are totally reliable on Sky TV for their sponsorship money. Teams like Wakefield, Cas, Salford will never vote for change, they are 100% reliant on Sky Money. A serious rethink is needed, change the system, and see what happens.
We need one more team at least , 12 team competition, 22 games per season. No relegation for 5 years. Within this time, clubs have to develop their grounds , their academy, if they don’t meet the requirement they lose their super league status. No ifs or buts etc. Simply they are relegated down a division. Extend the game in the UK France and Ireland. There is more than enough scope to develop the game in France Ireland and UK, it just needs someone who can market the game, advertise the game. Big shake up is needed, no ifs or buts, set the rules and apply them.
