2020 Challenge Cup Semi-Final Draw




The draw for the semi-finals of the 2020 Coral Challenge Cup was made at half time during the last of the quarter finals between Hull FC and Wigan Warriors.
 
Salford Red Devils, Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves were already in the hat as Jon Wilkin undertook a socially distanced draw at the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford.
 
The semi-finals will be played as a double header on Saturday 3rd October 2020 at a venue yet to be determined.

Crazy, three days after the games on 30th September, surely could have been played on the Sunday?

It wont matter to Leeds - Wigan will simply blow them away with their intensity.

When will people learn to stop making such definitive statements.

That will be because Hull KR are a Tony Smith coached side so are totally amazing, except when they get absolutely thumped by us, twice that is, when this forum goes strangely quiet




As for the Wigan game, they are in fantastic form at the moment but 2 weeks seems to be a very long time in these current times, I believe Wigan also have a game on the 30th, it could all depend on what both coaches do with squad rotation.

Wigan play Saints on the 30th. There is no way they can rest players for that game. If we lost to Catalan due to resting players it would be a shame, Lam simply doesn't have the option in the first place. A clear advantage to Leeds.

And a few times that was justified - how many CC finals did they lose? For most people it was the style of rugby especially under McDermott that was the frustration - they won it from 5th twice which would suggest the quality during the season wasn't top notch?

Worth noting that the sides which won the GF from 2011 & 12 reached the Cup Final in both years as well as defeating Manly in in the World Club Challenge in 2012. Pretty successful seasons when you take them in the round although there were certainly some ups and downs. As fans we apply skyscraping standards (some more than others) for success, but I doubt whether many of us would care to measure our own achievements in life by such demanding criteria.

Wigan board reckons they've moved Saints game forward a day to 29th. Game on Sky.
