Good news. At his best he's vital to our attack. Hopefully, Garbutt resigns too.

I'm not as enthusiastic as others, I think he's been fairly ordinary this season and at 35yo to get a new two year deal just seems a bit of a risk.

He's 33, but I see your point, although he's not been fit for most of the season, but he still has a lot to offer IMO, especially as front rowers like him are almost extinct, unfortunately.

Yes, 34 at the start of next season so this was my first reaction. But prop is a position we are struggling in already so to lose another corner stone would probably hurt us even more, we will still need at least one quality front rower even with this news. A fit cuthbertson is still a good SL forward.

He needs to start acting like what he is supposed to be - our most experienced prop. That means leading by example with the prop's basic job first - tough runs, hard tackles. The rest is icing for if/when we're playing well, which we're not.

Mullally's OK. Walters I find hard to understand. He has energy, which in our current pack is a big plus, but surely we'd hope one of our younger forwards could take his place in the squad next year?

Mullally doesn't punch his weight consistently enough for me very much like Wayne McDonald.

He also needs to sort out his knee lift technique too.

Mullally is best as prop-style 13. He's never a front line grafter.
