| It started off as three fixtures played over a [i'festival of top class RL'[/i weekend.
After the lopsided debacle earlier this year, the WCC was allegedly reduced to just two fixtures for 2017.
Now Warrington are struggling for NRL opponents as rl11 NRL teams so far turn the opportunity down!rl
It appears that the concept is sinking as fast as the planning application for Tetley Field

| It was a pretty needless concept anyway, and with the way the games panned out last year it's hardly surprising the Aussies aren't bothered about these filler games.

| Agreed, it needs to be just the one-off game played over here in winter with the assistance of hail, pee, wind, lots of mud and a referee who doesn't like Aussies. The NRL club could also assist in promoting competitiveness by resting half their first grade squad and arriving in the UK just a day or two before the kick off
Expansion of any kind was always going to emphasise the huge gap between the two competitions.

| Good, it was a poor concept. I had zero interest in the runner up games. Just provided the NRL fanboys over here more ammunition to whinge about how rubbish SL is.

| The standard of rugby league served up in SL doesn't merit any expansion of the WCC.
We can't even scrape one good SL team together, never mind three.

| It's the fans I feel sorry for. I know they are some UK fans who like to salivate over the NRL and it's players, especially if they are beating a Super League team. Now they'll have less chance to do so. They must be really upset. Still, they'll have their memories to fall back on, I suppose.

| So how do we get better if we don't play against better teams? How does rl expand if we just do the same stuff we have done forever?
At least GH is willing to try things.

| You can bet if A N other chairman had mooted the point they wouldn't be getting as much flak as GH.

Apparently it would be better if we all pretended SL was brilliant and we are seeing a defensive masterclass from the likes of MacGraff Leuluai, the WCC makes those people look a little silly.

| Three sides playing one game a year against NRL sides in their pre season isn't going to improve anything, unless the players and coaches of the SL sides involved use the events to genuinely assess their ability and make serious efforts to get better. I didn't see any rush of SL clubs to Australia to actually learn something, and still don't see it happening, except for the much maligned McNamara.

NRL team would only win by 20 then.

I find it strange that supporters take no pleasure in seeing the best players in their sport live?
Everyone knows the gulf in standard is large and that the WCC games will not be competitive - that is not the point it is the opportunity to see the very best live. Is that not also an attraction of international RL - is there anyone going to the England v NZ not looking forward to seeing Shaun Johnson live?
