Reading between the lines they want to build a new side and perhaps his age and only being able to do one more season doesn't fit into their longer term strategy.

He also said he had been on the go since November 2014 so maybe he is just knackered too

Whoever he works for going forward they will be recruiting a real asset into their organisation.

Wish him all the luck in whatever he decides to do next. I hope it's at Leeds in some capacity, or at the very least within the sport. As said above, he will be an asset to anybody, wherever he ends up.

Hopefully GH will have the sense to bring him in and mentor him, to replace himself going forward.

Sinfield's statement refers to opportunities for a "life after rugby", so I wouldn't expect to see him stay within the sport in an administrative capacity.

As for timing, it could be that these opportunities have a narrow window and it was either now or never. Can't see that Carnegie would be pushing him out the door, given he's been one of their better players in the second half of the season.
