| 1) Sutcliffe is not a half back. He should be at loose whilst Ward is missing.
2) Burrow is ineffective. Shouldn't have been made captain.
3) Galloway can not tackle below the neck. But has started every game.
4) He stifles the development of Singleton, Keinhorst etc by only playing them when he's forced to.
5) He doesn't pick players on form.
6) He runs players into the ground. Ablett last year.
7) He doesn't use all of his bench. Instead preferring to flog players or stick with Burrow.
It is now evident that Sinfield's brain and Peacock's brawn led the team.
McDermott out.

| Sick of hearing Sutcliffe at loose, please stop. What the hell are they seeing in his performances to suggest he would improve in the 13 shirt? He has shown nothing of the sort. Infact his defence shown so far suggests he can do nothing of the sort.
His performances are not worthy of a starting spot at present, regardless of position. He does however have utility value which might prove useful without a dedicated position.
As for the coach, he did his job with great players to utilise. He isn't the type of coach, and never has been, to develop players and see a club through a transisttion period. Look at his Broncos days. Whether he has learned himself time will tell, but his reluctance for proper assistants, and continuous repeating of mistakes, suggests his arrogance fits in with the complacency throughout the club. Change that and who knows.

| i agree with Gotcha - I think he was in right place at the right time.
I see young players not fulfilling their potential - Baldwinson is another compare his development to that of Ben Currie at Warrington.
He is far too stubborn and incapable of taking criticism - his reaction to questions about his sub strategy see him in his true light.
The club needs the next Trent Robinson - an up and coming Aussie assistant who can change up the culture at the club and get some proper focus on youth recruitment and development.

| If & it's a big IF we need a change in coach.
I personally don't think the club needs an up & coming Aussie assistant who can change the culture of the club. We will need the best person out there no matter what nationality, colour, creed, relgion or sexual orientation. All because someone is a Aussie does not been they are the answer.
People who think Sutcliffe should be at loose forward are quite frankly deluded. Sutcliffe is imo the victim of circumstances. The next man in Sinfield's boots, his senior half back partner injured(Mcguire), returning from injury, playing with either a even less experienced half in Lilley or Burrow who his best suited these days to a impact role of the bench or water carrier.

| I thought Sutcliffe was the real deal? touted as Leeds' and England's captain for years to come, was it Schoey who suggested the England team should be built around him for the next 10 years he was that good?
Was it all a bit premature then? i have to admit, i haven't seen as much of him as you lot, but i can't see what he offers more than any other young lad in any other team.

Agree with all of this. The over-riding 'quality' any new coach must have is an ability to work on the cheap.

| People who say that McDermott can't make transition done remember the team he inherited with top players leaving and returning. He managed the loss of club legends senior Webb lauititi. And still delivered titles and cups. They're have been some bumps in the road like the start of 2011 but the team has pulled through. judging the team at the moment would be foolish.

| Sutcliffe returned from a serious injury and after twenty minutes of game 1 had to do his and McGuire's job.
Give him some time at HB with McGuire and I think he will improve .
As for the coach ,this is the first season he's had to really do his job. He can no longer rely on Sinfield to cover his inadequate game plans or baffling bench use.
He can't just flog players into injury like Ablett,Delaney and now Ferres . He needs to be using players like singo,Garbutt, keinhorst ,baldwinson etc.
At least Mullally is getting a chance but will he get dropped unfairly for a clearly struggling player or to let one of the coach's flogging boys back in as soon as they can stand ?.
We have had 4-6 players missing for virtually every game.not helped by the coach's unexplained dropping of two props or Garbutt suspension.
We still have McGuire,Ward,Delaney,Hall out along with Briscoe and Falloon still not match fit .
I think we have a lot of improvement to come but the players need to be more organised in defence, massively improve the 5th tackle options (McGuire and Lilley ) and our the effort in for support play, runners and looking for offloads.

McGuire,Hall, Ward and for some unknown reason we went without Garbutt and Singleton .
I'm not saying it's why we lost but it one factor along with poor execution,no game plan, no leadership and poor bench use.

| We do not need a Danny Brough, we don't need to introduce personalities like that into a team that is trying to find its identity.
If we need anything we need a Dunneman type, oh and we need some patience. Not saying Mac is infallible, but if we were going to replace him it'd have to be with the right guy, change for changes sake isn't the answer.

It needs someone who is working within the NRL - that is the superior competition and where all the innovations are in our game. To suggest otherwise is futile IMO - they don't have to be Australian but they also don't need to be John Kear. The culture needs to change up somehow.

| In all honesty, it kind of feels like we are trying to follow what Wigan did a couple of years ago, with a lot of antipodeans trying to stay competitive. (Granted theirs were of a higher quality, but they fell on them lucky).
I'd much rather follow what Wigan are doing now, for all Wanes faults, I like his next man up trust the youngsters mentality, supplemented by a few choice signings.
We have too many Aussies at the moment and only a couple (Moon, Cuthbo) who are top quality.

| Garbutt and Delaney I wouldn't mind keeping, but then that's only 4 in a 17, as opposed to the 6 we are likely to field when everyone is fit.
If I rephrase, Moon and Cuthbo are the only two I don't think we could find/develop a same quality replacement for.
