Thought this lad would be a world beater but think he's turning into Kevin Iro. When he can be bothered he's awesome..

He won't improve in Super League because he doesn't need to.

You should've gone to the NRL school of trolling for a few years, would've done you (and us) the world of good. You've gone backwards staying in SL.

Needs to work with a coach and a couple of senior players who can take his game to the next level - that is not going to happen within the SL set up. He has been poor by his high standard for a year but he never gets dropped and he gets picked at international level. What is the incentive to move - put him a more challenging set up and would have to work harder on his game.

Hardaker is another who appears to be stagnating, as for Hall the less said the better. Maybe Mcdermott struggles to coach/improve 3/4's

Watkins will come good again. Hall looks shot. Can't catch, and is way too big for a winger. However, Hardaker is the big worry. Looks like the MOS has really inflated his ego. His defence is decent, but I'm always waiting for his brain to explode in attack.

I think with Zak he's being put into a role that seems totally alien to him. It's the linking up into the attacking line which he just doesn't seem comfortable with. He's just not an extra pivot, nor is he hitting/or gaps being made for him out wide.

A few full backs these days make the transition there from the halves so coming into the line as a pivot is something they're comfortable with. That's not really Zak's game. His strengths elsewhere compensate for it though obviously.

Watkins is having a bad patch for sure but let's not forget he has a new second row inside him and a young winger outside. Oh and he is what, 24? Still young himself.

Hall is also struggling, suggestions his new baby is impacting him could definitely be true.

As for Zak, I just think he is trying to step up and do more in a team that is struggling. Maybe he shouldn't do that but I don't think you can fault him for trying. You saw at the hooter last night how much it meant to him.

You have to look at the big picture. Forget last year or even the last ten years. It's where we are today that matters. We have the best 3/4 line in the comp still, but like the whole team we are in a rough patch.

For a large part of last season Watkins was top quality , agree he has not been great this year but still a threat with ball in hand and you find me a better centre in super league . As for Hardaker i really do not get people on here , whilst he has not yet reached last years heights his effort can not be faulted and he has made numerous try saving tackles and has probably been our best player most games .

No one has really been firing at all cylinders so far this season so it's not just Watkins I don't think there is any need for worry if we get key members of squad back and continue to progress this season we should be there or threre abouts when the trophies start getting handed out. And as for people thinking Watkins has lost pace they need to think again he is still one of the fastest players in the game the reason I think he was caught last night is a few moments before St Helens made a break I think it was makinson and Watkins tracked back to try and tackle him I think it was hardly who did in the end then saints turned over possession and thats when Watkins was set free by Ablett so he was probably still recovering from chasing back don't worry he's still got bags of pace Imo.

He obviously isn't, hence the concern expressed by several posters on this forum who are far more erudite than you'll ever be.

Quote: Stevosfalseteeth "Watkins will come good again.'"

When will that be?

When he can be @rsed?

Perhaps "Him's" earlier accusation of a collective mindset of unconscious complacency at the club applies in particular to Kallum?

Which is understandable IMO because Kallum knows (as do all the Leeds players) that it doesn't take very much skill and effort to finish in the Top 4 of Super League, even for a squad like Leeds who find themselves deprived of the input of "The Three Geriatrics".

This is a key reason why Kallum won't improve in Super League because he doesn't need to. He and the rest of the Leeds team can play like crap against another Top 4 contender and still pick up two points as they did last night.

As did the Wolves when they beat us, as have Saints & Wigan in most of their wins.
Other than Widnes & possibly Salford all SL teams seem to have gone backwards this year.

I agree, it's a competition-wide issue.

The Top teams aren't being tested, and what's even worse? The Top teams aren't even testing one another, as evidenced by the low-quality mistakeathon (albeit entertaining in a way) served up last night.

There was no excuse last night. The conditions could not have been better for fast open handling rugby. No wind, no rain, excellent firm, dry pitch.
Saints fans must (should ) be even more disgruntled than us having been brought up on the previous style of Saints play.
All they get now is a massive pack trundling it up the middle. Stop Walmsley, slow down the PTB & they are rubbish.
