| Looks pretty impressive. Bit of a shame there's going to be seating in the south stand, but as someone with 2 young kids, at least they'll get to see the game from there with a good view

| Looks good is as positive as I gets for this. Seating in the South Stand? Wtf? What happened to Gary wanting to keep the character, atmosphere and uniqueness of the stand?

It says that the south stand will still have more standing than currently even with the seating. And mentions bringing up the capacity from the loss from the north stand. Hope we don't lose too much seating in the north stand would hate to have to go in the south

| Seating in the South is an absolute disaster. Heartbreaking. It's gonna rip the atmosphere right out of it.
"It will present a major construction challenge and inevitably cause some disruption for all teams during that period. Our stadium capacity will reduce to just over 13,000 for a period during the 2017 season but we are determined to ensure all our ticketed members are guaranteed access to all games and that's why the 2016 Members will have priority for 2017."
Where are all us South Standers going during this period? Carnigie stand?

. It's not that bad, we're not all animals in there. Although there can be a bit of unsavoury element towards the back. Interesting to see where they locate themselves, and how the club marshall them. No doubt the club will be looking to attract families into the south stand and some of their antics will keep them well away

THIS!!
When we watch other Grounds at SL I'd say 90% of them have zero atmosphere what so ever, ours is the only real atmosphere about these days!
If they think this is going to work then they've seriously made a big error call here.
The general feeling on social media as well this morning is NO seats in the South Stand.
I wonder if these plans have been rubber stamped or if there's room for communication with "US" the Fans?!

There are a few more considerations than the atmosphere, although it isn't ignored. It's a commercial decision for one, as the reduced seating capacity in the north stand has to be made up for somewhere. That's a significant amount of revenue lost if the seating capacity is reduced. It might seem trivial for those hankering after the existing, crumbling south stand, but that's the reality.

| Seats at the back of a much larger South Stand - no problem.
Plastic seats in the North Stand - disaster.

| The new north stand looks a bit bare and windswept. One of the benefits of its current setup (and I know it is flawed in lots of other ways) is that the roof, sides and the wall behind the paddock provide plenty of protection from the elements.
As forHeadingley having a monopoly on atmosphere that is just Leeds fan arrogance. Most of the time the place is very quiet whilst plenty of other stadia, old and modern, provide a good atmosphere. The high roof of the proposed new south stand poses a challenge though.

| Fantastic news.
After a 15 year absence from the south stand, I may now return with a lovely cushioned seat high up and level with halfway, well away from all the riff raff who've been stinking out that area for way too long.
Oh, and take that effin' band with you as you clear off!
It's not often I've praised him but... well done Gary Hetherington. Fantastic stuff
