| Good move. Bad circumstances. Wont do him any harm getting away from the UK for a while, though he may find the extra scrutiny over in the Aus media a problem.

Nah he will totally fly under the radar over here!
It's not like the story has already been a running joke for prime time media outlets.....

| Makes sense for Huddersfield too, as their only option realistically would have been to release him to one of their SL opponents. Assuming he gets his act together off field, it should be a good experience for him. Physically he's capable of getting into the Roosters pack.

| I don't understand the year loan though.
Surely he can't return to Huddersfield in 2017?

| Maybe if Huby leaves as well, or perhaps they're hoping that Ferres and Huby patch things up?
I really feel sorry for Huby and the Huddersfield club and fans in all this. Thanks to Ferres' actions they're down a very important player and have little or no chance of replacing him.

It gives Huddersfield time to sort a deal out with someone. IIRC he's contracted to Hudds until the end of 2019 so Huddersfield will want some money for him.
It gives Hudds time to sort out a decent deal that gets them a transfer fee as they're not under pressure to get rid of him quickly.

Well it's all happened at an awkward time in terms of clubs having done their business for the year and having their 2016 squad planned and assembled so perhaps a loan was the only realistic option, they probably didn't want a SL rival to gain from his signature just yet until they find a replacement also.

| I'm sure Catalans will take him. That's standard operating procedure these days.

Too true....they should take him and to accomodate him, offload Todd Carney....to Leeds . In fact they should loan him to Leeds for the 2016 season. Imagine him in the Leeds side with our 1 to 5 outside him. It's a salivating prospect.
Before anybody starts I know it's not really a possibility and I'm the first to support the notion of Sutcliffe (and maybe Golding) given evey opportunity to make the SO position his own (I'm also looking forward to seeing more of Lilley at SH).....BUT Carney's passing skills at SO are a sublime aspect of his game to watch. Watkins and Moon would revel in the space on the outside his passes create.

Boyd Cordner and Napa I think. Kane Evans and Taukeihao play back row as well. QLD forward Aiden Guerra plays in their back row as well. Normally it's Guerra and Cordner and one of the others as a third prop at 13.

Cordner, Aubusson, Guerra, Papilli
Take your pick.
NSW Cup for Ferres. Not first grade.
