| Needless to say out of the super league treble winners I think our guys this season are the best of the lot.
The competition this year has been harder than ever before, with more games against better teams.
Bulls 03 - Played in an easier format (top 2 = 1 home game into the final and no super 8's to get to that point) with the CC earlier in the season keaving plenty of time to regroup and recover from CC hangover and peak again end of season. Competition overall weaker in terms of number of teams capable of competing for trophies.
Saints 06 - Again had the easier format like the bulls above except without the added bonus of the CC at the start of the season. Weaker competition overall than today.
In terms of style leeds this season have had the perfect blend and would have been able to match bradford's muscle, and saints 2006 class.
No doubt saints fans especially will scoff because they seem to have it in their heads that the 2006 team was a team of gods but to win the treble this season has been a hell of alot harder than it was in 2006.

| I agree...IF they ever move the CC to earlier in the season then it will become easier. To get a true appreciation of what this team has achieved the formats and calendar must remain the same. Incredible!!

| Super 8s has made the comp even more difficult. We finished 1st after the regular season, 1st after the super 8s, and won the grand final. Our last 3 games were wins against 2nd, 3rd and 4th. It could only have been tougher if we played Saints away in the semis.
By the way, didn't Bulls and Saints breach the salary cap in 03 & 06 respectively?

| I think the stat that our last 3 games to complete the treble were against 2nd, 3rd and 4th is the one that highlights the point. Thats unbelievable so close after the CC final and a trip to France.

| I don't think there is a great deal between all 3 teams if you look at them on paper, they would be great games if they played each other, but unfortunately that will never happen, and as all 3 managed to achieve something very special its unfair to pick one out as greater than the other imo.

| saints in 06 only lost 4 games all season and by 1,2,3,and 4 points which is a superb achievment and is unlikely to be matched

| Saints in 06 didn't have much competition. Wigan were terrible, we were terrible, Hull managed to get the gf and embarrass themselves.
It's hard to say who was better than who out of those sides, because you also have to look at who they are playing and their quality aswell.
What I would say is if you offered each of those three sides the format they were expected to win the treble with, I don't think any would choose this one. The last couple of months have been an incredible run of games when you think about it. A cc final and then 9 games against the top 8 sides in a row

| 2005 was the strongest year for Super League in terms of having all the top three teams near their peak (Leeds, Bradford, Saints). But for a bad selection in the CC Final and Bradford cheating the cap we'd have won the double then too.

Closest we got to a treble before this season IMO. That side was as good as any in SL. People also forget that the 2004 team only lost twice in the regular league. Incredible. If you include winning three SL titles in a row straight after that Saints side won the treble, it is no surprise Phil Clarke said the best SL side in 40 years. The core of the team - Sinfield, McGuire, Burrow, JJB have been there throughout.

| I'd take Peacock 2003 over Peacock 2015.

| It is also worth adding that the Leeds 2004 team was more than capable of handling the Bulls 2004 team, which wasn't that different to their 2003 squad. The same applies to the Saints team of 2007 which Leeds ably defeated twice in the league and in the GF, despite having most of their 2006 team present.

I Agree but would add that Jamie Lyon was a big miss for them in 2007.Not saying he would have made a difference in the 2007 final mind, as we were awesome and blew them off the park.

| I think a major factor in being able to do the treble is when the Cup Final is held. If the Cup Final in 06 was in August then I'd say that Saints Team were the best as they lost fewer games. If not the 15 version would be the best given the format. Who you play in the final weeks of the season determines a lot IMO.

| To return to an old chestnut of mine, a few teams have done the treble, and it's tough. Only one team has done the WC/Super League double. And we've done it twice.
Anyway, obviously our treble was best, too. To win the last three matches against such tough opposition, after looking down and out following Wembley was amazing.
