I don't think its a case of him deserving his spot back rather do we need to risk him with a near a fully fit team and Stevie not having a run out for a while and it's such a big game? I posted the same team as Him has above ^^^ and that looks very strong and balanced to me.

On that basis why include JJB he has been out longer and has one game more
Ward was far more impressive than JJB before his injury

If i was going to play Ward it would be from the start, i don't see what value he has really from the bench in this game as opposed to JJB who provides cover right across the pack. and like i said he hasn't had any game time leading in and this being such a big one.It is a risk. Just my opinion and one which Mac probably won't subscribe to and we will see him on the team sheet on friday
I also fully agree Ward was superb before injury and will be vital for us on the run in to the play offs.

These guys are so well conditioned that they seem to be able to return after injury as if nothing has happened. I don't see Ward playing as such a risk so for me Burrow drops out

Burrow causes that huge saints pack to think even when he is not on the field in my opinion.
If Burrow has a place at Leeds he has to be playing in games like this. We arent going to go through saints. We don't need to match them in the pack. Our good results against them have come from going around them with offloading, eide passing and wide running and making those big guys move sideways and not back and forth,

Those days are long gone the issues he causes in the defensive structure far outweigh the attacking benefits he now brings.
He has been a great player for Leeds but his best days are a distant memory

I will be quoting this post again when the little fella darts through a fatigued Walmsley and Masoe ala OT 2011 before outpacing a desperate LMS on his way to the match winner on friday

Yeh, I agree with Smokey, Burrow has to play in games like this - probably off the bench.
He still remains a fantastic player to bring on against tiring opposition.

JJB did ok on his return and needs the game time. In a knock out semi final it would be a bigger risk to play Ward instead of JJB for this game. If we have a back rower with any injury niggle then play Ward but otherwise bring him back for the super 8s. You have a short memory Sal. Burrow still offers more positives for this game as he demonstrated recently when he provided the magic to save us a point against Wigan until Aiton stupidly gave it away again

That's 4 years ago - time has moved on sadly.
I hope you are right but I am far from convinced by your optimism

He was just as influential the following year against Wire sparking our comeback when we were behind late on. Even as recently as the Wigan game which we lost on the last play, it was his moment of magic, sitting Tony Clubb on his booty who had just creamed him twice, on his way to what should have given us a point. He may not be the player he was but he is still a capable match winner and game breaker.Absolutely vital bench player in a big game still, and i will wager the last man the Saints players would want to see coming on for the last 15 minutes if it is close.
