The Mole is suggesting that Roberts was close to signing for Gold Coast, but his chances of moving to Leeds are "rising." It looks like the Widdop rumour is dead, Sandow has all but signed for Wire, Dureau going to NRL. Good halfbacks are gettimg hoovered up.

There is a real issue with half backs in the NRL - when the best NSW can come up with is an over the hill Pierce and an out of depth Hodgkinson it shows they isn't much quality out there.
The NRL is moving to a place where the importance of the half back is being usurped by the power and athletesism of the forwards and the 3/4s

Roberts has played over 90 NRL games so must be ok and is an excellent goal kicker. He plays to the coaches plan and not an individual flare player. If rumour is right GH must think he fits in? |

Not sure about Roberts at all! Has looked amazing at times but bloody average at others. |

my sources tell me that widdop and his partner have just purchased a new home and have also bought a little puppy too!
these are clearly not the traits of a family looking to move overseas imo so i personally don't believe that this was ever a realistic signing for the rhinos....but if mick gledhill says its a done deal then what do i know?
