| With Headingley being studentville there's plenty of food places around and about. From takeaways to Reds BBQ.
Ugly Mugs on St Michael's Lane always used to make cracking bacon sarnies, don't know if the new one is just as good?

| Red's True BBQ is the muts nuts, best eatery in Headingley followed by Jino (although a little far from the ground).
Woodies, Three shoes, New Inn, Box, Skyrack, Original Oak and Headingley Taps all do food but you'll be hard pushed to tell any of them apart - nothing ground breaking, standard pub food.
Fast food - you've got Subway, KFC, Greggs, fish & chips, Chinese and various pizza/curry houses, all a bit... meh!
Go to Reds, you'll not be disappointed, unless you're a veggie in which case you'll be very disappointed - but not as disappointed as your parents.

Was there a Soylent Red day in the film?
I know there was a Soylent Orange day.
Been twice, to one in Manchester. Some pulled pork dish first time and a huge burger the second time. I was unimpressed on both occasions and didn't care much for what others had ordered either. Any food which requires a load of condiments, sauces and trimmings to make it look and taste ok may as we'll be classified as a product of the Soylent Corporation IMO. Just tart it up and call it something else.
People seem obsessed with food these days and that obsession relates in particular to food with a restaurant chain brand name attached to it, just so that they can feel ultra cool and hip about themselves.
Shiyte is still shiyte no matter how much sugar coating is applied.

In the book (Make room) IIRC Green replaced Red and Yellow.

The condiments are optional and I don't think you're supposed to put all of them on your food but each to their own.

Red's is hardly a chain - they've just opened their 3rd restaurant! and I believe that people's obsession with food has been around for some time. Something to do with the necessity for humans having to eat may have something to do with it. But why would you go back to a restaurant that sells shiyte food if not either because you enjoyed it or wanted to 'fit in'?

The obsession with eating branded food, taking a photo and then instagramming or facebooking it in all it's glory on a chopping board or inside a mini dustbin is a relatively recent phenomenon. Shame they don't do nan breads. They could follow Akbars (another chain) and hang 'em out to dry on a former coathanger
I'll try anything first time. Second time I was outvoted by friends who also like Dixy Chicken and Micro Chips.
Another friend of mine from college days completed his degree or diploma (can't recall which) in food technology and he's worked in that industry/field ever since. Suffice to say, he doesn't touch any food which has been processed and cooks all his own from fresh and organic ingredients. Mind you, he can afford to. I've often referred to him as the CEO of the Soylent Corporation. He will help produce the shiyte but won't eat it himself.

I tend to unfortunately agree with William I think reds is overhyped as people like to be seen to go there I lose count of the amount of photos of doughnut burgers on my Facebook feed

| Thanks for the food advice fellas, but how about round City after the match? Any suggestions on decent beer or late licence drinking and even dress code? Cheers in advance.
P.s. Agree with William and Ferdy about Reds True Bobbins.

I wouldn't say it was bobbins, but it's definitely questionable as far as the definition of authentic quality "food" is concerned and it is massively overrated. Not quite sure how the chain has earned its reputation but it certainly generates "cool gang" queues both inside and outside. But there again, so does Dominos Pizza at Headingley.
Nuff said.

| Queue outside for a restaurant ?
Bollax to that.
I ate at a pub/restaurant in Glenrothes on Wednesday, it was quite popular at 7pm and when I asked for a table for one they scratched their chins for a while as it was obvious that they didn't want to give me the last table which was set for four, "I'll take that one then shall I ?" I said and sat down - the service was incredibly fast, it was almost as though they were trying to get rid of me as quickly as possible - nice beef cobbler as well.

| Are the noodles you can get in the South Stand any good? I've never eaten in there apart from a pie. The Chinese food always smells so good though
