Jimmy Keinhorst has signed a new 3yr contract to the end of 2016.

I've no problem with this i think he has decent potential & if everyone is fit i'd expect to see him go on loan in the Championship or somewhere like the Broncos.

Interesting one for me as he was already contracted up until the end of 2015.

McDermott must be related in some way to that family. There is no way this lad is of super league standard, or shown anything to suggest he will be. Giving an addition to his existing contract without even showing improvement, smacks of something fishy.

But as with any player, good luck to the lad, go out and prove something then.

Wonder if there any milage in the Hardaker moving on rumours and whats gone on in the England camp ? Thought Jimmy was a project with utility value and no more so why upgrade/extend contract ?

I thought he did improve last year Gotcha, especially after he came back from his first stint at Hunslet. His line running seemed a lot better. In the Cas game I thought he ran some lovely lines. I was impressed (and not just because of his hat trick).

Not the best quality, not big enough but plenty of effort and decent enough depth and all squads need that.

Improved as you say G1, not just the obvious areas and always gives 100% in defence, showed that jumping in a gap in the line from a tap 20 at Salford and dislocating his shoulder....wont shrug his responsibility.

Strong squad player, could see him play 1st team at teams in the Broncos, Wakey or Cas bracket now so looks like Leeds see further potential from him.

Hard to see him even getting close to challenging Watkins or Moon ATM. But as mentioned he did well at Hunslet, so maybe his next step should be a loan to another SL club where he can hopefully get a really good run of games together to further gauge his potential at this level.

I wonder if he can play hooker?

Quite pleased he's extended his contract as IMO he gives very good strength in depth not only at centre but though he did a cracking job filling in at second row several times - his defensive efforts are solid. He probably knows without injuries he won't be dislodging Moon and Watkins on merit alone at this time. However with the versatility he's shown playing in several different position and also coming from playing fullback at union I think he offers a lot as a back up player.

What's interesting is that McD stated 'I've no problem with this'...

Clearly this was a decision that was made by somebody other than McD - although we've always known GH pulls the strings with transfers, that comment would suggest McD isn't even consulted.

That's a good one superted guessing coaches still see potential with keinhorst. Agree with others a loan spell is likely this season but would think jimmy would be happy with that too to get some run of games again. Am sure some of the other current fringe players will want the same too.
