| It may be a coincidence that since he got injured we have won 5 on the bounce. Dont get me wrong Webb gas been a great signing for us but I just cant see him offering us much more that Zak can at FB. Plus he seems to give away far too many penalties
One of the biggest reasons we are playing better IMO is that Zak has been moved from centre. and Ablett has replaced him (Ablett is probably the best English centre in SL).
Will Mcdermott stick to playing Zak once Webb is back? or will he choose to play Webb without match practice or match fitness?

| Injuries/a reluctance to give Keinhorst and Chisholm an opportunity in the the threequarters could change things.

| I see yer point i really do but i can't see Webb not in the 17 if fully fit.
If you think back to our dire run of form the coach hardly dropped anyone in fact you had to be injured to be out.
I think Webb will walk back into the 17 and IF he's got his head right he will be an asset if notthen we know what to expect.
Saying that i personally would hope that IF fit the 17 that won on saturday are te 17 for the final but i can see Ward getting left out with Webb coming in which imo would be very harsh.

| After watching it back on Sky+ last night, Webb didn't look too confident of getting back in!

I don't understand how you can say those two things. The first having a go at the coach for not changing when should have, which I agree with you on. The second saying we should go with Saturdays team for the final.
JJB was just bloody awful on Saturday. He very nearly singlehandedly gave that game away. This follows on from awful defensive performances against London and Castleford from him.
You can't say the coach was wrong on one hand for not changing, then go and say he is right not to drop someone. In truth loooking back over last couple of years, had a Burgess, a Clarkson, a Kirke, a Hauraki, a Smith, a Pitts, put in even half as bad a performance as JJB did on Saturday you wouldn't have seen them again for rest of season.
Back to Webb. Personally I would give him the sub utility spot, with the interchange hooker been his primary position, once fit. Webb been out isn't why we are winning, the easy run of games is the reason for that, with Saturday excepted.

| I like Zak at fullback, but I'd like Webb to have at least one more game. He's been a good player for us. It'd be nice to have a chance to give him a proper send-off.

| I know what you mean Gotcha but WHO would you drop him for??
Of course i should have also put FORM permitting in the build up which gives Jjb time to get his defence sorted.
ATEOD the 17 on duty got the job done Jjb had a mare defensively but still got through a lot of graft with the ball and he's still imo one of the best BR's in the comp plus with Abbo still at centre i wouldn't change Jjb for Clarkson or Hauraki.
Not sure where you get he was awful against London from we won by 50 and the 2 tries we conceded were because of Hauraki's missed tackle and Hardakers mis-placed pass and the cas game they were all awful in the last 20 imo.
Just to add when i've called for rotation and players to be dropped it's been after countless errors and poor performances not after 1 bad stint ,1 missed tackle etc etc.

| Webb shouldn't come in as full back, he is doubtful to be used as a halfback over McGuire or Sinfield and is he required on the bench? He might have stood a chance if Lunt had been unavailable. I guess Ward, Lunt and Webb are fighting for two spots. I think Ward would miss out if he went on tour and thus I think he'll cancel his trip to Aus.

I'm not calling for him to be dropped for the final. But I do think any player putting in a performance that bad, should be dropped for the next game. And personally over the last month, I think Clarkson has been the pick of the backrowers, so wouldn't have a problem with him.
The comment about still got through a lot of graft with the ball, I actually dissagree with. He was also the one with the errors with ball in hand.
Hopefully he will get a kick, and get back to the better performances we know he can do. But this poor defending, especially defending the try line, has been evident for weeks now with JJB, and it doesn't seem like anyone is getting a grip of it.

| Defensively i thought we improved against Hull although i do agree the 1st 3 tries at the very least we conceded on saturday were very weak defensive efforts.
Will be interesting to see if the coach does rotate the pack over the next few games with the Final in mind.

| Hardaker played pretty well but he doesn't have Webb's support play instincts yet. He followed Peacock well, but Webb would probably have been there for both of Burrow's breaks. He's that extra option.

| webb to fb
hardaker back to centre
ablett to the second row
I am not sure that much disruption is good in preparation, its all no coincidence that with ablett at centre hall looks a lot more confident.

| Hardaker is looking very comfortable at full back.He is good under the ball and his kick returns show more potential than Webb's -Zak s sidestep is almost the equal of Tomkins. He is stronger in the tackle than Webb -he made at least two try saving tackles on Saturday. he also has better discipline -Webb has given away far too many penalties recently.
And if Webb is brought back in his usual position where does Hardaker go? Not back in the centre I would hope since Ablett and Hall are a superior partnership.
Webb has been great over the years but I think it s time to say bye bye.

I hope thats not the case
As good as Hardaker is he is and never will be a centre
our left side is great with Hall and Ablett, Zak not only isnt as good as Ablett at centre but he doesnt feed Hall the passes he should.
For me, if we do not have any injuries and the form stays at a high level then Webb shouldnt get a sniff
I am a big fan of Webb by the way
