| Hi, three of us coming up in the day who will be getting the train from Manchester, is it best to stay in Leeds City centre or get towards Elland Road for a decent beer and banter with the fans?
How far is it to Elland Rd from the Station by the way?

| Depends how long your legs are and how fast you walk pal!
Usually about 15>20 Minutes from Centre.
As for Boozers I'd stay around Town!

| Few decent pubs near Elland Road so stay in Leeds.
If the shuttle busses are running from under the arches, then the Scarborough Taps is the most popular city centre pub on LUFC matchdays.
There are some other, better and lesser known options though in and around the area.
- The Hop, Granary Wharf - Osset Brewery Pub & very nice it is too.
- Mignight Bell & Round Foundry, both on Water Lane (near Bridgewater Place) - Both Leeds Brewery Pubs - deffo recommend if the rain holds off.

All the one's he's mentioned are real ale pubs the nearest one to the station is The Scarborough taps just turn first right as you come to the end of the staion concourse ,the its about 20 yards away.Leeds united are away so it shouldnt be too overcrowded.I'm very envious.also I know i'm getting on a bit but it would be better to get the bus 5 minutes walk from the taps along boar lane to Corn exchange catch them there

| If you're into Wetherspoons there are 4 all within a five minute walk from the station. There's one in the station itself as you go out of the exit near Queens Hall. The other three are straight over City Square. Just ask for Becketts Bank, when you've had a couple in there carry on straight up the road to Millenium Square and the Cuthbert Broderick is there. Come out of the Broderick and go up by the side of the museum and you'll find the Hedley Verity. Becketts bank is massive and the Hedley Verity was at one time the biggest pub in Britain. You should get served quite easily in all of them and you won't pay more than £2.25 for a pint of good real ale.

He'll need a good tourguide to find all of em. If it's Leeds Brewery pubs he's after i think the Brewery Tap and Midnight Bell are his best bets. There's always Leeds Brewery beers on at the Spoons anyway so he could mix and match between pubs. He may bump into Jamie Oliver in one of them, a big fan of Leeds Brewery.

You won't get in the Leeds brewery pubs in sports/rugby tops atleast not in my experience(or unless they have changed the rules recently), they are great places to drink though
