Might have already been posted but what's people's thoughts on this
www.skysports.com/story/0,,12211_7232631,00.html
Not sure if the idea would ever get the go ahead but personally I think its a good suggestion. for the last few years Aussie team's haven't really seen the WCC as a serious game and more of a pre season friendly/team bonding trip. if we was to go there on there terms and get a result would that not be a good thing from a pr perspective for the RFL?

Aussie teams have been taking it seriously since 2004. Don't let the bullpooping NRL apologists kid you otherwise.
I want it played here, because we have an advantage then, just like the Aussies would have a massive advantage if it was played over there. The very reason they want to play it over there now.

| I think its unlikely to happen over there because of the interruption it has on the season. Because of the relative lengths of the seasons, it makes sense to be played over here

| Logistically it would be a nightmare if the fixture would run to the same time as it usually does.
But a trip over there for the WCC? Come on. Bet the players would love that experience. There's not many 'firsts' left to do for our boys but this would be one to get wet over. Same for the fans.
Garwy has for a long time has stated his intentions to play this fixture over there.

| It wont happen unless the NRL get behind the WCC. It's all well and good Manly saying they want the game over there, but are the NRL going to cough up all the cash to bring Leeds over and organise an event thats an unknown factor? The difference is, it's an established event over here. You know you will get the crowds and the sponsors to make sure its viable. The NRL put up with the event because they know its a development of the game.

| For a minute I thought that the WCC was going to feature on that Australian soap. Very misleading thread title
On a serious note I want it to be played in Australia. I think these lads deserve they chance just like the Wigan team of the early 90s.

| Scheduling is an issue IMO.
The Aussies won't want it over there at it's current time of year.

| We'll find next season hard enough.
A mid-season trip to Australia won't help that. We'll see. Not really bothered either way but perhaps play it pre-season if we have to go there? Late Jan/Early Feb?

| [i"David is having a meeting with the NRL this week so we should know more after that. If it comes down to finances, I think the game would make more money here as we could get 80,000 at ANZ Stadium or 50,000 at Suncorp Stadium."[/i

Delusional? Every country must have a call me Dave.

| Home, Headingley Stadium apparently, due to LUFC being at home on the required date.
