| We all know that a team from fifth has never won it before but I wonder when (or indeed if) a team has won it without having a single player in the dream team? Or a single player recognised in the super league awards?

| The Dream Team aspect to your question is simple enough to answer.
1996) - 5 (6)
1997) - 5 (2)
199icon_cool.gif - 6 (3)
1999) - 2 (2)
2000) - 3 (6)
2001) - 2 (7)
2002) - 4 (3)
2003) - 2 (5)
2004) - 5 (1)
2005) - 1 (4)
2006) - 5 (1)
2007) - 4 (3)
200icon_cool.gif - 5 (5)
2009) - 4 (1)
2010) - 4 (3)
2011) - 0 (2)
So Leeds become the first Grand Finalists (let alone winners) to do so without gaining recognition for any of it's players via Dream Team selection. It's a team sport though and there is no 'i' in team.
Can't help you with the SL awards.

In the five Super league title-winning years, no Leeds player or coach has received an individual honour at the awards night.
Quite incredible really...

| Screw em. Screw the lot of em.
They can keep lauding players and teams who win nothing, and we'll keep winning titles.

Damn right. Great post!!! It's an astonishing fact.. for me it shows there's always an anti Leeds agenda from a lot involved in the game. But as you say... screw em all.

| the persons responsible for awarding these rugby league accolades can take their individual awards and shove them up their agenda driven persons' ar5e5
the rhinos surely will take these team awards that really matter over those individual ones i'm sure although if sinny never wins a m.o.s award or even gets a nomination?

I don't think theres any agenda, I just think we have so many specials players in the team, and we are such a [iteam[/i individuals have never stood out in the same way others have in poorer teams.
Put brett hogdson in this leeds from 2009 and theres no way he wins MoS IMO.

Hate to put a dampener on things but I think the lack of players in the Dream Team is more down to our poor year than any agenda. Hall should have been in for me & JJB had half a chance. Sinfield had no chase at 6 and the same with Buderus at 9.
As for previous MOS - in 2004 I'd have given it to Vainikolo, 2007 - Barrett, 2008 & 9 - Graham, 2011 - Roby. The only one who had a chance for me in those years was McGuire in '04.
Rather than showing an anti-Leeds bias I think it shows how many different people have contributed to our success over the years. Our TEAM always really comes to the fore

| I would just really like to know what Kevin Sinfield has to do to be recognised. Captained his team to five grand final wins and nothing. That's just not right to me.

How do you want him to be recognised?
The only year he was close to MOS form was 2005 and even then he wasn't an obvious choice by any means. I'm sure he has notched up a few Dream Team selections for what it's worth.
The man is a living legend in a Leeds shirt, has shown glimpses of his talent in international RL but is far from the best player in the competition. I'm sure he's happy with his 5 winners rings. I bet Rangi Chase would swap accolades with him

Never really thought about it like this but I think you could be right. The MoS is usually awarded to the player that has stood out in at team. Perfect example is this years winner - Chase has been by far the best player in the his team this year and has stood out by a country mile.
When everyone is playing to the same standard, which the Leeds players seem to have been doing all season then no single player has stood head and shoulders above the rest.
