| I've just read he not available again due to a knee injury.
No doubt the lad is a real talent....but are we to expect no more than the occassional cameo appearance throughout any season ?
Without a doubt it highlights more than ever how much the club needs to sign a fit and healthy young quality centre to complement what the club already has available....if only to cover for Watkins' frequent absences.

| It's a worry, seems to pick up knee injuries. Is it the same knee? Could be a concern, hope not would be a shame to see him not being able to furfill potential due to injury.

| Lad of his age should certainly not be suffering this many injuries. I always felt he looked a bit lightweight in the leg.

It's arguably the age you would pick up more injuries.
I think it is the same knee and the extended lay-off is more than likely down to the fact that he shouldn't really have been playing in the CC final.

| The CC Final has clearly had an effect.
I'm not too sure about your other comment, unless you mean that the body is still developing and needs time to 'grow in', thus causing some parts of the body able to take the stresses and strains, but leaving others too weak. I'd have expected more injuries later in a career, if at all.

That's what I was getting at yeah. To be fair to him though, his ligament damage of last year, can happen to anyone. The crazy step that found it's way into his game early last season probably didn't help the knees either though.

| He is worryingly fragile. Before you know it he will be 27 and will appear in the "never quite happened" catagory.

| He dazzles with ball in hand, super foot work, stronger than he looks with the fend, great lines and most importantly for a centre feeds his wingers and support players. Quick and athletic. His skill level is sublime and he has shown he can un-lock defences at will. He is the most exciting prospect we have and if he can get a run good in he could be a very siginifcant player for us for a long time to come. Ongoing he is working on his defence but the biggest stumbling block so far has to be his injury list. It is stopping him from getting any momentum - it would be great if he could piece together a dozen games plus to put his marker there. Time will tell if he can (or if his body will allow him to) convert this natural talent and potential into greatness.

Fully agree. He's young so he has plenty of time to strengthen. Just keep him away from Smith's chip shop.

| He and Bjb do seem to be brittle but hopefully they can overcome it and continue to develop their undoubted potential because along with Hall and Hardaker we have some of the most exciting and skillful backs in the SLimo.

You missed off tall. He's pretty tall, so he's got a good frame to fill out.
Kind of like an under nourished keith senior.
But with hair.
and a different skin colour.
and not quite as 'blockbusting'.
Actually just scrap the whole keith senior comparison.
..No wait, keep it.

Not that disimilar to what they said about a certain Tigers player, a Mr B Marshal a few years ago. Talented, but injury prone. Now look at him...
