If you intend going to the Final at Wembley, whether we win or not at the weekend, you should note that on the day of the final there will be no trains in operation between Marylebone Station and Wembley Stadium due to engineering works. These engineering works will be taking place throughout August and Chiltern Trains decided to use the last two weeks in August to complete and commission the project because "history shows those two weeks are the quietest". Yet again another example on Rugby League's big day no thought for the supporters. See...... www.chilternrailways.co.uk/ticke ... es/changes
"Sporting event at Wembley National Stadium: The Carnegie Challenge Cup Final. No Chiltern Railways services will call at Wembley Stadium station. Passengers are advised to use either Metropolitan or Jubilee line services to and from Wembley Park and Bakerloo line services to and from Wembley Central, where your Chiltern Railways tickets will be valid".

| I guess that means no direct train from Leamington this year then. Meh. Is there never any thought to how travelling fans from Warwickshire reach big games?

| It doesn't bear worth thinking what the underground is going to be like! Then the inevitable queue to get back on to the station for the tube after the match. For once the car may be a better option.

| Never found the tube to be a problem to be honest. There is plenty of parking at tube stations on the Met / Jubilee lines.
As for getting back, I've always found it to be well organised and lets face it; if you go to a sporting event with 85,000 people expecting a quick getaway at full time, you probably shouldn't be allowed in public unsupervised.

| I've only used the tube to get to the cup final at Wembley once, but there were no big problems, you'll have to queue a bit, but meh.
The tube system handles 3 million journeys a day, so it's quite good at handling big events if people are patient.

| What we did last year worked very well.
Drove to Ricksmansworth tube station, parked up and got the tube in. After the game, there was no queue on our platform as everyone seemed to be going back in to Central London and were therefore going in the opposite direction.
Oh, there was a 30 minute delay while we were sat on the tube when a tanked-up local youth decided to have a go at another tanked-up local youth of a separate ethnic origin and the TFL employees kindly refused to let us move the 4 kids we had with us into another carriage while the brawl ensued. I'm sure that's only a one of though.

| Last year I hopped on a bus to Leamington and got the train straight to Wembley.
Didn't work that well - we got thrashed.

Has the letters page in the local paper been inundated?
I usually get the tube from Baker Street. Elementary my Dave Watson.

There's absolute uproar. A street protest is being organised in Radford Semele next weekend.

| Last year we had a car full so all chipped in and pre-booked a parking spot at Wembley. It's not exactly cheap but it does take the hassle out it in some respects, especially when train works throw the whole travel thing into chaos!

| Getting away is not that bad to be fair, probably no worse than getting away from Wigan, which is always a pain when they turn the exit road into a one way. As I say, it's not cheap but it's pretty easy to sort out online, and takes all the hassle out of it if theres enough of you in the car to share the costs.

| There'll be 6 of us (call it 4 as two are kids). I think we paid around £4 each on the tube - I reckon the parking permit would be less than this?
