I prefer Costa to Starbucks myself. Generally I prefer a normal cafe if there's a suitable one nearby, but when in strange city centres, sometimes such places are just more convenient. Plus I like decent coffee, and as much as I'd like to deride the whole corporate thing, the coffee in Costa isn't actually too bad. I've had much worse in France and Italy, where they apparently take coffee very seriously.

Those with a long memory for ephemera will recall my observation of Stuart Fielden buying a coffee maker at the Leeds branch of Debenhams.
He is therefore in a position to make his own coffee.

Mind you, that was when there was discussion about whether he was en-route for Oz and I opined that it was unlikely as I didn't think the warranty would remain valid abroad.
And that must have been ages ago, he was still at Bradford then and could still play a bit.

Anyway, Purdham is going home to Cumberland to run the farm.

I have a cooker/wife which can readily produce meals at home. I still like to venture out to another establishment (like the curry house or kebab shop, for instance) once in a while. Perhaps Mr Fielden feels the same about coffee?
