What does it mean to you to beat Bradford ?

Does it make your year ? Does it makes you dance for joy, reach for a kebab, make love to the ... ?

And what's it like losing to the old enemy ?

Do you kick the cat, reach for a stack of kebabs ?

We want to hear from you in 10 to a maximum of 50 words on just what it means to you beating and losing to your fiercest rivals.

The best responses will appear in a feature on derbies planned for the match programme for Millennium Magic which, of course, features the Leeds v Bradford derby on Sunday February 13.

So let rip, but no swear words, please.

Look forward to reading them.

Good luck!

Beating Bradford makes getting up for work on a Monday morning a lot more bearable. Losing results in a definite sickie.

Beating Bradford in a Grand Final is the best possible feeling. The only sad thing is that this scenario can happen only once a year. eusa_boohoo.gif

Couldn't give a poop about Bradford. No different to wanting to beat any other team, they are quite insignificant these days.

When they had their heyday in late 90's early millenium, it was quite difficult and meant a lot to beat them, as they were a good team. 2003 was a hard pill to swallow, as we were a good team that year, but still not good enough to beat them.

Now it's just a game.

Beating Bradford Bulls is my one constant solace in an otherwise turbulent rugby league season. On the other hand it galls me more than ever if we lose to bulls once in a season. Yes I’m a Rhinos fan.

My mobile operator prefers Leeds to win...as I send lots of texts to Bulls supporting friends to offer my heartfelt condolences icon_wink.gif
Lose, and I turn the mobile off for a few days icon_smile.gif

i work in bradford so beating them gives me local bragging rights as i am in the minority. also watching bradford lose is second only to watching leeds win, when it happens in the same game perfection where ever it is being played

Beating Bradford means no more than beating any other team.

Why?

Because they've rarely ever been Leeds fiercest rivals.

Nor are they the old enemy - historically, the rivalry between Leeds/Wakefield, Leeds/Castleford and Leeds/Hunslet has been far more significant.

It's not a proper local derby fixture. It's the brainchild of Super League marketing and hype, it's significance apportioned and reinforced by Sky Sports, Eddie & Stevo, and a couple of Super League era CEO's who didn't get along personally and preferred to waste time meeting up frequently in court in order to boost their own ego's.

It has no historical significance like other bona fide derby fixtures do, eg, Wigan V Saints, Hull V Hull KR.

The fixture only works and pulls in the big attendances under two conditions...
1) Bradford have to be dominant and successful.
2) Leeds are not but desperate to be so.

Anyone who considers Leeds V Bradford as a derby game between two fiercest of rivals are clearly those who have been weaned on Super League. They possess little to no knowledge or historical perspective.

No 'Loiner' worth his or her salt would regard Leeds & Bradford as the most important fixtures on the calendar. That's the ted domain of the archetypal 'Rhinos' fan and young children who know no better.

It probably means more to them than it does us these days. Much like it meant more to us when we were aspiring to their success for years. It was massive for me beating them in those days, because that was as good as it got for us. When the big one came in 2004 though it was particularly sweet.

These days it doesn't excite me any more than any other match. Now we've tasted real success, it means more to beat the teams around us. When Bradford become challengers again, it'll mean something.
