I decided not to post anything about this and instead chose to e-mail both clubs about the situation as I saw it at Hull however, it is now clearly out in the open so thought I should now start a thread.

rlhttp://www.therfl.co.uk/~therflc/superleague/news_item.php?id

It is about time that Hull FC took charge of the situation and stopped allowing a small minority of their supposed 'fans' from gathering in the East Stand close to the away North Stand. They are clearly gathering there with the primary purpose of goading the away fans for their own warped sense of gratification by getting a rise out of the away fans. This crowd trouble was nothing more than an exchange of abuse and some throwing of plastic bottles, although one lady was in tears as she left 10mins before the end with here husband and family and a large section of our support chose to leave from the section of seats nearest the Hull idiots rather than continue to be abused. There was a small minority of our fans that did rise to this and they shouldn't have done, but they were under extreme provocation from this group of Hull 'fans'. The stewards did a great job of containing the trouble and they of course did this by containing the problematic Hull idiots.

The Hull club and it's genuine fans needs to get this sorted. I would suggest that the Hull club starts to identify the leading protagonists and ban anyone in that section of stand who indulges in inappropriate behaviour of gesturing towards away fans. I am not suggesting, in the first instance, that they ban them for good, I simply think banning them from the East Stand and only allowing them access to the South Stand, or moving their seasons tickets to that stand, would in the main stop the current problem.

Come on Hull FC, put your house in order for the benefit of the overwhelming majority of you fans and don't let a small minority of idiots bring your club into disrepute.

Rhinos rock on:

eusa_clap.gif Totally agree with you.

Having been caught up in some severe crowd trouble at the KC at a football match I urge them not to let the same thing happen in RL.

It was the most terrifying experience of my life and one of the reasons why I will not allow my husband to take our little girl to the football

totally agree with you on this one. I have to wonder whether the issue could have been worse however. Our bulk of 'lads' if you want to call them that were well away from where it was happening. i worry that had they been sat in the same corner a lot more could have happened, as it happens the Leeds fans sat near these idiots were mostly not interested.

That may have been one incident, but the other one that the RFL will consider more seriously is the vessle full of beer (or other similar coloured liquid)that was aimed at Lauaki on the field that resulted in a Leeds fan being ejected from the front of the North stand.

Both clubs have had problems and need to sort them out, but odd leeds fans didn't exactly behave well.

Not that I am condoning what happened here.
But how do you know it was aimed at Lauaki?
Was he stood on his own when it was thrown?
Who are you his mother?
As stated previously this sort of thing should not happen at a Rugby match or any match for that matter.
Let`s hope the idiot gets banned for life.
But I am getting a bit sick of all this protection over this one bloke.

No, one Leeds 'fan' in the incident you quote didn't behave well and indeed was ejected from the stadium. There were several Leeds fans who also did not behave well close to the East Stand and indeed I saw one missile fly from the North Stand to the East Stand but saw several thrown the other way.

The issue here is about the Hull club now taking charge of the situation and stop allowing these 'fans' from gathering close to the North Stand on purpose. The genuine Hull FC fans need to put pressure on it's own club to not allow this situation to escalate. I don't think putting a bigger gap between the fans is the way to go either, simply move them to the South Stand and just eliminate the problem.

As has been stated by another poster, while some Leeds fans did rise to the problem, you didn't find the most vocal of our support sitting in the corner of the North Stand as close to the East Stand as possible did you! When you come to Headingley, do the same vocal supporters stand close to the Western Terrace on purpose! In fact, at any other ground in SL do you find the same thing happening... NO! The Hull club need to put there house in order for the majority of their fans and the away fans visiting the KC.

loads of hull fans say they think its a disgrace and want it sorted.
well get together, harass the club to stop it and do the same in the local rag.
the fans moan about it, the club obviously aren't bothered about it so maybe every club should boycott the KC until its sorted. hit them in the pocket where it hurts.

to me its gone on so long the club, and genuine fans, don't care what goes on. if they did they would do something about it

No fan was ejected IIRC, not that i saw anyway one of the "big lad brigade" fell over taking out a few other people in his party and the security stepped in thinking they were fighting. When this was explained they let them be.

Although i agree which ever numpty lobbed that pint should be seriously reprimanded.
