People who are getting the train to old trafford next week, please note that all trams from the city centre have been suspended until the 2nd November, due to a multi million pound engineering and maintanence work.
However there will be buses running that will be the same price as you would have to pay on the tram that will take you too the ground.

There are no trams through the city centre. They are running from St Peters down to Old Trafford and Trafford Bar. If you are getting a train into Piccadilly you just need to walk down to St Peters and you shouldn't have a problem.

Indeed ... If you are going on the train from Leeds, you can also get a through ticket to Old Trafford.
It is also worth remembering too that there is usually a special train (not tram) the runs from the centre of Manchester (Oxford Road ?) that stops at the little station just behind the main stand.... Hardly anyone seems to use this |

Rather general there Danny. Its only illegal to drink on a coach when heading to asporting event. |
