Shocking signing. Saints fans should be asking some questions if he is the best they can come up with...

Questions are being asked. But put it another way, he's better than all but one of the Leeds prop forwards and is only there for 1 season at the end of which we are trying to sign Luke Bailey. A Bailey/Graham front row isn't something to be sniffed at.
Foz isn't a great signing, but he'll do a solid job of helping out Graham. Graham and Fozzard as starting props, with Puletua, Fa'asavalu and Roby from the bench? Soliola could also play second row against Leeds if they wanted some more grunt.
Put yet another way we're trading an expensive international player who has contributed about 6 sub appearances this year for a rugged prop who'll soak up work through the season for much less wonga.

| Good signing IMO.
A big, experienced prop. Adds depth, is a healthy improvement on Hargeaves, takes pressure off Jammer and comes cheaply. I understand we're still looking to sign another forward too.
Graham
Cunningham
Fozzard
Flannery
Wilkin
Roby
Puletua
Faasavalu
Clough
Moore
Hargreaves dropping down to 4th prop, with Emmitt and Frodsham behind him and Soliola/Ashurst/Dixon cover for the back row.
Lomax, Foster, Ellis, Dean, Armstrong cover in the backs.
We needed this type of squad signing in the forwards, I'm happy to have him back.

Au contraire.
This signing helps take some of the weight of Graham's shoulders. Playing Fozz should allow Puletua to drop to his preffered role of second row. With Moore coming back home, it means the pack should be a lot more physical and skilful next year.
Fozz can also help the likes of Frodsham, Dixon and Maggenis come on along with the remainder of the young pack that recently hammered their Leeds counterparts.
It is by no means a showcase signing - nor is it meant to be - but it will be highly effective in my opinion.

| I think his heart is at Saints and he will return to better form next year in a Saints jersey. That said, what it does show his Saints potential youth issues in the forwards and unlike Leeds, whom have moved to pick up some young talent from elsewhere, Saints are struggling and he is a short term desperation type move. If I was a Saints fan it would not be the signing of Fozzard as such that would the issue, but the fact they have had to sign him!

| Nothing but average! The bloke never did have much skill, now that he is getting old he naturally has less energy which results in losing the collison.
