| Dont know if this has been covered but what is the general feeling of his performance?
I thought he definatley had a game of two halfs
1st half very impressed
2nd half seemed to be a little out of his depth

Considering he has had limited chances in our first team I thought he went well. He seems physically ready which is a plus, although I have doubts, mainly that it's only now that he has managed to break into the team, and i don't believe he set the world on fire at Halifax?

| Saw some criticism of him on another thread which I thought was harsh
From what I had seen of him until last night, I would have said he's not a SL player
However last night in the first half, he was arguably our 2nd best player. Fronted up ok in defence, nice run from deep in our half, and despite nothing coming of it, he actually didn't panic as the pass wasn't on at the time. Then a superb flick pass for the Donald try.
2nd half everyone was sh*t, so would be a little harsh to single Ratu out
I'd personally give him another go if the circumstances dictated

I agree with that, he didn't look out of place last night, and despite their position in the table Wigan are a top 5 team.

| I though his defence was a little patchy and tended to drift a little in his positioning but I think the lad did well - some strong running and had quite a high work rate. Would like to see tvoc’s stats later next week.

(leading very easy breaks around the outside of donald in the second half)
think it left ratu guessing what donald was going to do, rather then paying attention to what the attacker was doing.

| Ratu didn't look out of place and his pass for Donald's try was top drawer. When things went belly up he certainly didn't look our worst player.
However, his selection in this game baffles me.
It was so far out of the blue that I wonder what Bluey's thought process was. What has Ratu done recently to get ahead of Ablett/Watkins/Gibson in the pecking order for right centre?
Yet another sign of the coach rattling around desperately.

| I thought he did OK. Certainly no worse than other more seasoned professionals in the squad.
But would agree with G1, am slightly baffled by his selection above others.

I thought he did well and will benefit from more game time.
Don't think Ablett was a viable option as it would leave a hole to fill in the back row. Gibson looks to be a player who is leaving soon so isn't in the coach's plans - unless it was just deemed the birth of his child this week meant he wouldn't be fully focussed for a first team game.
On the face of it Watkins seemed a more obvious choice despite his age but I'd say Ratu Jnr's performance was enough to vindicate his selection even if it did seem odd [ibefore [/ithe game.
But then you knew that already

Well put. I think the selection was well justified. His defence looked strong, he has pace and good hands. He never got enough ball in the second half and considering Keef had a rare off day the youngster did better than the alternatives

| I thought he looked OK. Very nice pass for Donald's try. Maybe the view is that Watkins is very left-sided? Or it could simply be that at least Rau looks the part physically. Personally I'd give Ratu a run of games.

| Glad to see that Ratu has been having a run of games in your first team lately, I hope it continues.
Speaking as a Fax fan, I have to say he didn't make our first team last year, so must have made massive improvements back with you guys and also put on some muscle.

| Thought the lad did well, he needs game time before you can judge him, certainly played above Watkins & Gibsons game time levels.
