More on this from today's YEP.
The plot thickens.
www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/r ... 4967069.jp
Eastwood confirmed the delay is over a visa application, rather than a bid for a British passport.
He said: "I'm applying for a UK ancestors visa, because my dad and my gran are from England.
"When I get there I'm going to try and apply for a British passport."

| So, just what sort of processing do the British Embassy in Canberra have to do ?
I maintain that if he'd been a soccer player or to serve in a bar in Earls Court, then he'd have been here weeks ago.
Has Eastwood messed up ?
Has the club made a mistake with the paperwork somewhere along the line ? (Given the massive number of Aussies we've had over here over the years, I find that hard to believe ....)
Or, has this arm of the foreign service recruited a load of ex-pat Bradford, Saints and Wigan fans in to do the rubber stamping ? (Or maybe a Vogon )
Maybe they're trying to wressle the 'Diplomatic Incompetence (Canberra)' Award 2009 off the habitual winners, the Zimbabweans ?

| interesting one, this one, what with greg bird seemingly getting his visa pretty quickly!
one thing i did wonder about, when was the visa applied for? should it not have been applied for when his transfer was announced? it would have saved all this fannying about!

| Way I look at it he's had what Jamie peacock would describe as the perfect off season conditioning and rest.
No problems at all with him missing half a dozen games at the start of the season.

| Was discussing this on Friday night - did the RFL have a hand in getting the Celtic players done ASAP so there would be a game on Friday? Surely the club should have had him over here by now - there werent any hold ups with the last lot, Webb, Kylie, Donald........
Or is this some sort of sinister plot against the club? Like my boss is a Stains fan and he has got me working this Friday night!! Are the people over there Sea Eagles fans and dont want us to have him available for the WCC? Did he shoot JFK? Was he driving a white Fiat through a tunnel in Paris in 1997? Am I paranoid??

Jesus!!! It won't take much to be the Leeds' best ever 15!! Hassan had a good season in 97, so that may be the one to best. Either him or Paul Bell.

I don't think it's should lay at the players feet, there is a structure for clubs to do their paper shuffling. I mean would you allow Nick Fozzard to arrange his own paper work?
