WBW ? Hmmm .

Have said for many times now the lad should have been put outside Watkins.... If he still looks poor outside this most complete of centres then he really IS poor and it is time to move him into the pack.

Hall is a great finisher and needs early ball. As much as I hate to agree with G1, I do believe Ablett is a better centre partner than Moon in that respect.

Problem is, then Briscoe gets given the centre who doesn't create enough space for his winger. It'd be the same problem just different protagonists.

icon_biggrin.gif think they said the same about John Holmes once upon a time.

Sinfield needs to be in there somewhere.... He will make just as good a second rower as he does a half back. And he won't miss as many tackles as Ward. icon_wink.gif

I've seen him come up with worst. Part of the point of moving Sinfield away from Loose was to lessen his defensive duties, and that happened in '11 & '12. Last year his tackling numbers went back up and continue to do so this year.

Sinfield made 42 tackles on Friday, Luke Walsh for Saints has made 45 in 4 games.

Sinfield - 116 tackles - 29 average.
Brough - 59 tackles - 14.75
Walsh - 45 tackles - 11.25
Matty Smith - 44 tackles - 14.6
Blake Green - 39 tackles - 13

And this is with having a traditional hooker getting starts and game time this year.

But Watkins wasn't very complete on Friday was he ?? 3 Clear Handling Errors including 2 passes into the stands d040.gif

Hall had a good game in comparison. icon_wink.gif

In fact on review Watkin`s game is far more error strewn;

1. Loose Pass to wing on floor into touch
2. Kicks straight out
3. Knocks on Briscoe knock back of Sinfield`s wide kick
4. Drops Bomb (thankfully Wardle foot in touch)
5. Missing for Bailey Try
6. Kick straight out
7. Another pass into touch
8. Out of position for Wardle Try
9. Forward Pass to Burrow (good job they missed drop goal attempt on 79mins icon_smile.gif )

Not one single pass to his winger ?????

Review of Hall`s game icon_smile.gif

1. Defuses Bomb
2. Chases kick and tackles fullback
3. Fields kick runs back ball
4. Scoots from AHB
5. Scoots from AHB
6, Drives infield from 3rd Receiver
7. Scoot from AHB
8. Jumps to Challenge Bomb (they knock back then spill ball)
9. Runs back the missed Hudds penalty kick
10. Defuses Bomb
11. Fields loose kick
12. Jumps to Challenge Bomb (they knock on. Burrow and Hardacker ball watching should have been blocking)
13. Fields kick off runs back
14. Fields kick runs back
15. Drive infield from 1st Receiver
16. Drives infield from 3rd Receiver ( to set up McGuire drop goal attempt.

Not one single running chance from Moon or Ablett ??? but then neither did Briscoe from Watkins or JJB icon_mrgreen.gif or Sinfield - McGuire - Burrow who all seemed to prefer attacking down that side. ???

Based on reviewing the actual game, your view appears to be niave - biased - myopic - obsessive - take your pick icon_lol.gif

Am i the only one failing to see why Hall is coming under so much fire on here recently?

Aside from a couple of shaky moments under the kick (something he normally deals with well) i dont recall him bombing many chances to score tries he should have. And his workrate has been at its usual high levels.Uncalled for IMO.

NO! NO! NO! you are not alone d040.gif

His mistake was in the Wire game. It looked to me like he simply misjudged the flight and expected the ball to clear the Wire player who made a magificent leap and catch to score.

Also in the Giants game he was isolated on both occassions with several other Leeds players simply ball watching when they should have been moving into position to block and give him some protection.

Not a word about Watkins spilling a bomb over our line. Good job Wardle put his foot on the line. icon_lol.gif

These muppets seem obsessed with his weight and the fact that he isnt scoring 80m length of the field tries from deep his own half every game cos thats the only time he sees the ball ATM.

He had no running chances down the wing on Friday from the inside support off Moon or Ablett. icon_rolleyes.gif but then again neither did Briscoe outside Watkins and Hardacker but again they cant see this. a026.gif

I wasn't at the game....but before anybody starts it still entitles me to contribute to a talking shop forum ( educated opinion or not icon_biggrin.gif )

With regards to our Ryan being on the wing I suppose it depends on whether he continues to fulfill most of the criteria for being a "winger"... Not sure the qualities he possesses of mainly being a strong extra forward bringing the ball out is enough. Maybe it is for Leeds with their relatively feeble pack options to the degree of leaving somebody on the bench for 80 minutes.....but for a top flight club ??

There can be no argument that Ablett is a better centre than Moon for 'giving' the ball ( he reminds me of David Stephenson who used to play inside Carl Gibson - relatively slow, but good winger's centre ) ... But Moon has other qualities which command his selection there of course.

Ryan Hall is a great player who deserves his selection, but the bulking up is maybe a longer term plan to shift him into the forwards ( as long as the senior players agree of course ).

Watkins deserves the odd bad game too, but being persistently below expectations ( whoever he is ) surely commands some squad rotation? At least it should do.

Yes, we should drop this nations best winger (IMO) because he hasn't scored a couple more walk in tries than others. The squad is crying out for rotation, i mean 4 games into the season and we look lost and exhausted! a return of 7 out of 8 points is a totally unaceptable start.stick Sinfield in the Second Row and let Stevie Ward be the on field general because we look lost and things are clearly not working. icon_rolleyes.gif

Perhaps Ryan's lack of form could be down to his attention being focused elsewhere......
