Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing. We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in. But you’ve got to keep believing.:86.jpg

Am I the only person who will NOT be impressed by some poxy set of short removable goalposts such as they have at Huddersfield???? If they have to replace the existing, huge and beautiful posts, the replacements must be appropriate to the status of the venue icon_evil.gif

Hmmm...this stuff about being "able to attract more events to the stadium"...could only really mean concerts (hence the removable goalposts), and if that's successful it could be a revenue stream that would pay for the improvements. However the other sports pitches that are used for concerts (Emirates, Stadium of Light and so on) are: a) bigger; b) all-seater.

Still, it's nice that Caddicks have got part of the contract.

I with you on this, I too hope they go for a nice tall set of posts to resemble the existing ones. I suspect they will because they will only take them down occasionally because they don't have to be changed week on week for football nets like at Huddersfield.

I am pleased that even though the South Stand is delayed they have decided to finally get the pitch sorted. I think a Grassmaster pitch is also the correct call and will stop excessive winter wear by the RU boys, along with a 3G boarders, as wear around the edge often makes our pitch look untidy.

Also very pleased that the club have thought about the issue of people who remains have been scattered on the pitch over the years and appear to be gearing up to make sure this is handled with dignity and due reverence.

Looking forward to seeing it finished.

So, where are the lodgers going to play during this project?

Talking of goal posts , a good rugby pub quiz question .
Which team scored a goal over its own posts whilst playing away from home.
Answer. Hunslet versus Leeds in championship final at elland road in the nineteen thirties. Fifty four thousand attendance . The reason was the Leeds posts were to big to transport from headingley, so the smaller Hunslet posts were shipped across from parkside . Hunslet won I believe it was 8 -2 . And I did not go to the match, I am old but not that old.

I'm old enough to remember New Hunslet's tuning fork posts down at the Greyhound Stadium icon_smile.gif

Quote: lionarmour87 "Down at the cross roads !come in Robert Johnson Caused a lot of confusion for visiting teams,as the singular support post was on the dead ball line. So obviously anybody crossing the try line and looking for the post as a reference would put the ball down over the dead ball line.
This happened on more than one occasion ,to the amusement of the home crowd.
