| To be fair to him he might only watch his own team's players . That would explain him having that opinion .

Quite so!
Unfortunately there are too many knobs like sgtwilko who want to $h!t stir by taking things out of context and trying to big themselves up by posting comments elsewhere in the hope of gaining some kind of credibility, I think it's down to some kind of insecurity complex.
We were actually discussing halfback performances by Leeds against Wakefield during the super league era
For the record here is what I saidDespite being in a Leeds team that has often been in a different class to the Wakefield, I have never seen Rob Burrow, Danny McGuire or any Leeds halfback for that matter put in a performance anything like that of Danny Brough yesterday.
I have no doubt that Leeds will play much better over the course of this season, equally have no doubt that Leeds will be in the top two come the end of the campaign and may go on to win another grand final. There's nothing in my post to suggest that I don't rate the current Leeds team indeed quite the opposite'" .

| I took nothing out of context. It's in black and White you say mcguire or burrow have never played as well as brough did on sunday. Or any other Leeds half back. I think that's pi$$ funny.

usual part timer attitude lol - you missed a good game, and danny brough was outstanding, am a wakefield fan but watch leeds a fair bit, dont think you can compare, but i do think that brough has a better alround game than either of leeds half backs, on his day brough is the best british scrum half by a long way. But mcguire and burrow of generally playing behind a winning pack, a luxury that brough has rarely enjoyed at any of his clubs.

| I like Danny Brough as a player. He has the right kind of attitude for a halfback (cocky lttle so and so), and wants to control the game. Its that latter bit which McGuire and Burrow seem to do rarely - probably from having Sinfield around. I'm not saying he's better than Burrow or McGuire, I just like him as a player.

It's not all about what goes on on the field is it? There is a reason brough has been at so many clubs and hasn't ever played for gb or england(it's nowt to do with Scotland) he is difficult to work with and has a bad attitude towards the team. He reminds me of breirs, all the skills but not got the temprament.

| I ain't gonna argue about Mr Brough's quality on the pitch . I rate him highly . He just needs a manager that is able to knock some sense into him . A top quality player even when he is having an average day .
I will , however , contend the allegation that I am a part-timer
Despite missing yesterday I doubt if there is anyone on here that has seen the Rhinos play more times than I have so far this year .
Any takers ?
( apart from Swarcliffe )

I spoke with Danny Brough last year after a wakey game at a corporate after match meal. I posted it on here at the time to say that he was going to switch back to England because he genuinly felt he was a better player than Rob Burrow and could get the England number 7 shirt. I laughed at him, but he was very focused on that goal. He said Burrow had been found out in the game and would not have the same effect, and felt he was as good as the rest of the competition.
For what it's worth to the Wakey fan that the post this thread is all about, Burrow has not put in a peformance as good as Broughs on Sunday in the last couple of years. But 2007 and before Burrow was producing performances as good as that of Brough's on Sunday week in week out. Let's see if Brough can get that consistency.

| I think this is our problem.
Whilst we have won back to back to back GF`s.
Burrow has not taken the game by the scruff of the neck and dictated the play.
We do rely on Sinfield to do too much.
Sinny is usually top tackler, goal kicker, playmaker and captain.
Scrum halves such as Long, Briers and Brough control the game on a regular basis.
Brough behind the Leeds pack would be brilliant.
I worry a bit for Burrow as it does seem other sides have found him out like Brough is reported to have said.
He will put in a great game every now and then but he needs to do that week in and week out IMO.

| Brough put in a fantastic display in a regular league game.
Rob has put in a better performance in a Grand Final or two (and walked away with a Harry Sunderland). Not to mention his performances for England in the 2007 test series against the Kiwis (walked away with man of the series).
Completely OTT reaction.

Good point G1 and yes probably an over reaction.
You will probably argue that if it ain`t broke then don`t fix it.
I still would like Burrow to take more control thoughout the regular rounds.
