Problem is nobody watches it. And if they do, it looks cheap and amateur. And let's pray for Dave Woods & Noble and not French & Davies.

The first Leeds game I taped on VHS was the Boxing Day encounter with Hunslet (or was it New Hunslet) in 1979, where Frank Bough was handing over to Eddie just as Leeds were scoring a magnificent try by John Holmes under the sticks. And that was a couple of minutes into the second half. The ball had been moved from right to left in classic fashion and back to the centre for Holmesy to finish without a hand being laid on anyone.

Re the switchover between 1 and 2, they've done similar with F1 coverage so it was only a matter of time before RL (the classic BBC filler sport) would be treated equally shoddily.

+ Snooker and Athletics....'twas always going to happen to RL some day. Would never happen to football but that is granted as the audience will be 6 times bigger.

F1, Snooker & Athletics you can understand give that they take several hours to complete. Athletics & Snooker goes on all day so the switch is fine.

Switching at half time of an 80 minute match is pathetic.

Good point. RL will always be 2nd rate to broadcasters, at least for the next decade anyway. I mean the SL show was on at something daft like 5:15 am the other day, wtf
Sky have the power to mess us fans about with fixtures changes but they are still way more committed than the BBC are showing. I think the BBC need to show RL more respect or just don't bother at all.

The Beeb could be a thing of the past anyway.

Personally I'd like to see it on ITV4. After the digital switchover on 7th September everyone will have access to that channel anyway and their Aviva Premiership coverage is pretty good.

This would be a pretty quite place if people didn't discuss the wider implications of an event.

If nobody watches it why go for someone with no personallity whatsoever and Noble as opposed to one of RL's greatest characters in the post war years and someone who has played at an elite level for clubs, country and Nation in two different codes of the game?
