Do Leeds then miss a week and then have a home semi final & can we lose the home advantage if we are picked by either saints or Wire (should either progress) ?

Yes, we progress straight through to week 3 semi final and have a home draw for that game no matter what. In this scenario Wigan lose the club call and it will go to the winner of the Saints v Warrington game. They can then only choose one of the two winning side from the week 2 elimination games.

Does that explain it?

The current play-off system causes me to want to lie down in a darkened room. I'll just wait until fixtures are confirmed and take it from there. If we lose to Wigan I'm not much wiser as to what happens next. icon_biggrin.gifOH:

Leeds will play the highest placed team that wins on saturday.

That's a fair enough clear explanation.

I'm expecting a week off.

Ok, it is not that hard really... honest! For the sake of this coming up time and time again, here is the simplest explanation I can do.

The play-offs take place over 4 weeks, the 4th week game being the Grand Final.

Week 1 games

Game A - 1st (Home) v 4th
Game B - 2nd (Home) v 3rd
Game C - 5th (Home) v 8th
Game D - 6th (Home) v 7th

Winners of the games A & B (between 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd) go straight through to Week 3 games and they will both have a home draw and CAN NOT be chosen as a club call team. The highest placed team of these two sides gets the club call, so it is only possible for the sides in 1st, 2nd or 3rd to get the club call. So we can't this year finishing in 4th.

Week 2 games - The highest placed side ALWAYS plays the lowest placed side in Week 2

Game E - Loser of Game A (Home) v Winner of Game C or D
Game F - Loser of Game B (Home) v Winner of Game C or D

Week 3 games (Semi's)

Game G - Winner Game A (Home) v Winner of either Game E or F (see club call)
Game H - Winner Game B (Home) v Winner of either Game E or F (see club call)

Week 4 - Grand final between winners of Game G & Game H

Ooh, I can just about cope with that.

Then presumably the judges scores are combined with the results of the telephone poll and the two teams with the lowest combined score play off to stay in the competition?

I just don't rate this Wigan side, but think it will get better.

Out of the top 4 sides I would rather have played Wigan than the others.

The other day I said Saints would win the GF without breaking sweat, but that was before I knew they had lost Pryce for the play offs, who I think is so important to them. I still think they are the best of the top 4, but I honestly have a feeling that Wire will lose their hoodoo this weekend.

I expect Leeds to face Saints at Home in the Semi, with the winner winning the comp. And Warrington at home to Wigan in the other.

As has been said.

If we beat Wigan (doubt we'll have to consider this scenario) then we go straight through to a home tie in week 3.

When we lose to Wigan on Sunday then assuming Huddersfield win then we play Huddersfield at home next week.

If Huddersfield lose to Crusaders then we will be at home to the winners of the Hull derby and the losers of Saints v Warrington (in the scenario of Wigan beating us) will be at home to Crusaders

If Huddersfield win they play us at home (in scenario of Wigan beating us) and losers of Saints v Warrington play winners of Hull derby.

Simple
