| Just watched the game back on sky and while there was nothing wrong ie it was a clash of heads I found his behaviour immediately afterwards not very sporting and potentially dangerous
Kirke looked sparko and landed on his side. Westwood did a little macho look and pushed him on his back. 2 problems with this if he had a serious neck injury this is very dangerous thing to do, and secondly if he was unconcious he is better being left on his side clearing his airway.
Not suggesting bans or anything silly, but usually when players are injured there is a bit more care. And if these players are ignorant to the risks they should be educated more

| Although I can see what you're saying, you cannot guarantee that Ben knew how serious Kirke's injury was straight away. I haven't re-watched the incident, but Ben may not have seen Kirke's face/eyes and therefore may have assumed that he simply put a big hit on him, rather than knocked him out. I'm not defending him, just saying that it may not be as bad as you think. Ben's a tough, hard-hitting player, not a dirty player.

I am not saying it was dirty, just potentially dangerous. I don't know how much first aid etc they get and training but they should get some IMO.
It may be your right and I know it's in the heat of the moment so you are probably right and he didn't know kirke was out, just to me looked bad. I don't really like it when players do this.

| I didn't have a problem with it, other than his p1ss poor tackling technique. At 6 foot 4 Kirke is big enough to have turned his shoulder in towards him in a Bailey/Fash the Bash stylee.
I'm glad the big fella is ok, although come Monday that face will look like a badly stuffed whopee cushion.

Don't have a issue with the tackle it is a tough game and dont want to change that but it doesn't need to be made any more dangerous by silly mishandling of injuries.

I don't think Mr Westwood has the brainpower to be anything other than he is, good hard player but not much upstairs.

By the way, Bailey got 'owned' last night as did Peacock. Big time.

| It is not the first time i have seen what i believe to be a reckless tackling technique from westwood, if that was bailey there would be hell to pay.
Dont give me this crap about it is a contact sport, I already know that, to me it was a poor attempt at a tackle end of.

| It's a tough sport, and collisions like the Kirke / Westwood one last night are pretty much inevitable. Nothing wrong with what Westwood did IMO. He must have the hardest head in the world, the number of players he has clattered (legally) and they have clashed heads only for him to look like nothing has happened. Nice to see Kirke up an about later in the evening.
These things happen, it's no big deal.
