| BJB should never play in a Leeds shirt again, and given the problems we had without a proper hooker, Robbie Ward should get a run out.

4. Joel Moon
5. Ryan Hall
21. Liam Sutcliffe

13. Kevin Sinfield
10. Jamie Peacock
19. Mitch Achurch
12. Carl Ablett / 14. Stevie Ward if Watkins still Ill
15. Brett Delaney
14. Stevie Ward / 16. Ryan Bailey if Watkins still ill.

| I'd say Robbie Ward to start with Sinfield at 6 and Sutcliffe coming off the bench.
If R.Ward came off the bench who does he come on for exactly? Sinfield would have to slot back to six with Sutcliffe either moving to loose or subbing him or McGuire off.
Ward should get the opening 25/30, bring him off for Sutcliffe with Sinfield moving to dummy half. Later on would depend on the score, a healthy lead and we can take either Sinfield or McGuire off to bring him back on.

| I was thinking the opposite. Play Sutcliffe/McGuire/Sinfield at 6/7/9 for the first hour, rack up a healthy lead. Bring Ward on for the last 15-20.

| I'd prefer to see what he's got whilst it's still a contest. Plus if it's close going down to the final quarter we know he won't get on.

| I'd go with:
1. Hardaker (if fully fit, if not then rest him and play BJB)
2. Briscoe
3. Watkins
4. Moon
5. Hall
6. Sinfield
7. McGuire
8. Leuluai
9. Ward, R
10. Peacock
11. Ablett
12. Achurch
13. Delaney
14. Sutcliffe
15. Kirke
16. Singleton
17. Ward, S
I agree with Printer in if we're going to play Robbie Ward then I think he should start. I think at hooker (unless they're an impact type hooker) it's important for a player to get into it early and just get on with his game rather than be sat on the bench. Also, if things aren't quite working you can bring him off (but he'll still have got 20/30 mins game time) rather than either bring him on when we're not doing great or him not playing at all.
If the coaching staff don't think he's ready then go:
6. Sutcliffe
7. McGuire
9. Sinfield
14. Clarkson

| Regarding BJB. Whilst we should stop this 'keeping everyone happy' rotation of the backs, I wouldn't say he shouldn't ever play for us again if we do need him for injuries. Like I said last week though I would give chances to Handley and Walters vs the likes of the London and Bradford.
Whilst having Sutcliffe play centre isn't a bad idea in terms of his ability. Having him there given our current situation with both hookers out wasn't correct IMO. The plan has been the last few weeks to bring him off the bench to the halves with Sinfield moving up. Sutcliffe starting at centre messed with this plan and we looked messed up formation wise as the game went on.
Ablett has been starting left side 2nd row all year yet found himself 4th man in on the right side for the Green try,

| Got to give Mulhern another go as well. The pack was shattered last night, and looked the same at Cas. Got to give more than one a rest.

Not having a hooker that can do some relieving dummy half runs is probably telling. Whilst his distribution can be poor at times there, Burrow takes some workload off the forwards in that regard. Also when Clarkson goes off we're missing that extra guy in the middle in defence as Sinfield (whilst doing quite a lot of defensive work) doesn't defend in the hooker's position.

| Daryl Clarke tearing wakey apart this aft. We really should be trying to get him, hate to see him at Warrington if he leaves Cas. Give ward a game Friday defo, let's have a look at him.

BJB is a good back up for the first choice back 5.....but no more .... especially now that we know he is leaving. Is there now any real reason to try keeping him sweet?? However, come the end of the season in the matches that actually matter we might be grateful that Briscoe etc has been given some rest during the season in matches like yesterday. Keep our danger men fit and at the top of their game for the season run in is not too dim a policy IMO.
Robbie Ward should start.
I praised McDermott a couple of weeks ago for his kidology in naming Ablett at HB but starting Clarkson at DH. It worked a treat....BUT now he is fooling nobody and the futility of naming Ablett anywhere but where he actually plays is pointless. The opposition now need to work on the limited starting DH abilities of Clarkson only immediately[/i looking for his outside men.
Bailey and Kirke should now be making way for the likes of Mulhern especialy against these mid season games against poorer teams - like Hull.

Speaking of other Magic games. Thomas Minns blew a brilliant chance for London yesterday, had a break and a teammate either side and ran straight at the FB, could've got London their first win.

I agree with you bringing on Sutcliffe with Sinfield moving to DH was working a treat....playing Sutcliffe at RC was a mistake but maybe a good game to have that highlighted.
Can you really see Sinfield or McGuire agreeing to come off? Peacock has set a precedent there no doubt.

At least McGuire is still quick enough to make a break unlike his half back partner who Green made look very pedestrian for his try. I appreciate some players cannot be criticised on here but it would be great if some posters didn't watch games through rose-tinted glasses?

Sinfield has come off in the last quarter of a couple of games this year already so I see no problem IF the game is well in control.
Peacock came off yesterday. I guess, Jamie Peacock of all people, didn't want to stay on the pitch
Sutcliffe doing a job at right centre might be ok if we had Burrow and Aiton fit and thus not having to re-jig and move Sinfield to hooker mid-game. Given that Sinfield was guaranteed to move then it wasn't too clever and a punt on Briscoe or BJB filling in at centre should've been taken. Whilst they could probably do a better job there I'm loathed to move Ablett & Hardaker away from their current positions of 2nd Row & FB respectively to play centre.

Oh don't worry...I can see the deficiencies of Sinfield as a halfback, but of the two, Sinfield IMO is still the more integral to the success of the team. He IS still a pretty good DH, captain and tactical kicker. (As first choice place kicker too for the moment - although I see Hardaker been just as good now if not potentially better. Sinfield is missing far more these days). What exactly are McGuire's strengths? He is becoming ever more petulant and is finding it hard to accept his loss of try scoring pace ...Burrow in his position yesterday would probably have scored. He certainly would not have reacted so badly when tackled audaciously from behind by the young Wigan hooker.
