| There is little news about how pre season is going and I get that. We would only be told it is the best pre-season ever!
However, do we know who has turned up? Has the whole squad arrived and been in pre-season from day 1 or are we still in the business of letting overseas players have a holiday and turn up when it suits them like last year.

| I'm happy we're not hearing too much. It feels like the focus is on the work this year.

| It looks like all players are back now and most have been so for a couple of weeks. Lisone was the one surprisingly who seemed to get a bit longer pre-season rather than say Croft / Miller.

| It might be also to do with Phil Daly being on the run with Kev all last week.
Pre Season has been pretty brutal so far apparently and the players are benefitting from it.

| I'd rather have a few stories / updates every few weeks than the identikit / cut and paste "players name here" tripe were usually served daily.
As above, this team needs an extremely good professional preseason, no gimmicks, no nonsense.
If that means we don't have any chat coming out then good, shows Weve finally learned something about practising what we preach.

| To paraphrase Blake Austin, I'll just be happy if we haven't spent all season practicing short drop outs / kick offs.
Although highlights of Eric Anselme and wishing players happy birthday seems to be par for the course these days.

| It was encouraging to hear in Palasia's interview with WYS that the team is the fittest he's played in. How true that is remains to be seen, but at least he's not gone from Broncos GF team (via GCT) to expecting and easy ride here.
One thing I do want to hear more than player interviews is one with BA. Not heard site nor sound from him since the season ended. I do have a suspicion that part of his deal is the Blease does most of the interviews, but like others I am intruiged to hear how pre-season is going.

| I quite enjoyed seeing the Leeds United players training video and working out in the gym.
It does show a togerthness in the squad and would be happy to see something similar from Leeds Rhinos every now and then.
But at the end of the day we got bombarded with it last season and the team on the pitch looked like they had never set eyes on each other so I get it can be misleading.

| I have to say I'm really looking forward to seeing the impact that Arthur's had on the group when the season kicks off. Last few years the preseason seems to have been an afterthoughts, none of the preseason fixtures seem to have been utilised for any real purpose at all. From the second Arthur brought them all in once the season was done and made it clear they were in for a tough preseason I've been feeling pretty optimistic about our preparations for the new season. Really hope we can hit the ground with a bit of momentum this year and look like we're actually ready for the season to start

| Just listened to BA's presser. First I've seen of him since the end of last season.
Not gonna lie, he seemed pretty grumpy, and didn't come across like someone loving their job and looking forward to the season. Might be wrong, but my gut says he won't be hear beyond this coming season.

| I didn't get that vibe? More someone who is utterly focused on what he's doing. A lot of his discussion is about raising standards, and it sounds like the training is just getting harder. Hopefully we'll start the season strong - I'm cautiously optimistic.
The only thing he mentioned that was slightly negative was perhaps wanting a few more squad players. The upside is that younger players will have to fill the gaps.

| To look anything other than grumpy while having to address that bunch of rag tag journos would be impressive. Cant we go back to live in person press conferences, the zoom ones are just bloody awful.
In fact, let the lot pod lads take it over, it'd be much better than seeing someone deliver questions slumped over his steering wheel or the camera staring up Peter Smiths nose with his lunch still round his mouth.

| It was also interesting to hear how much longer players in Australia have for pre season which I hadn`t really appreciated until now.
We have 5 or 6 weeks before a pre season game and they have something like 10 or 12 weeks.
Maybe our pre season should be longer and do away with some of the loop fixtures.

The clubs can't afford it.

The standard of questions are shocking. There's absolutely no detail to the questions they're asking. No asking about style of play, tactics, changes from last season, roles of Langley and Walker etc.

Maybe we should expand the league to 14 clubs and run from mid Feb to end of October with the WCC at the end of the current season as opposed to the following season?

Yep. couldn't agree more. it's like a vicious circle, it won't change so it won't get better.. eventually it all decays away over time like it has been doing for the last 10 or so years

| I’m fully aware of that but seems odd that Holyroyd is 25 for the match when 3-4 players have lower numbers and have yet to play SL. Probably nothing in it as Newman is 21.

| Needs a big season Holroyd.
Looked the business early doors but has had some rotten luck with injuries and faded badly.
Hopefully under Arthur he can have a real breakout season and a good run of spelled games.
